I used this to hang some string lights on my patio, and it worked wonderfully. It's easy to install in different ways, and I really like the packaging.

Quite the well thought out product. The price is excellent for the quality components - more wire than you'll need, very clever wire jam turnbuckles that make the job easier, springs to keep the system flexible in the wind, and all in quality stainless steel. I ran two 48' Costco LED light strings and they look great. I'd recommend this for anyone setting up outdoor lights. Combine with screw-in light clips for along the fence and under the eaves.

Buy this kit! It’s great! The wire goes up fast, stays tight, and holds lights zip tied to it easily. Using the light string to hold itself up is a bad idea. It says and you risk pulling the string apart. Now, about being a newbie in using the kit … I found the best instructions came from the image that is among the 6 images you see on Amazon as you buy the product (flick images left and right to find it). The good image is labeled Product Installation. Enlarge it to see details and do what shows with the hardware at the ends of the wires. One end of each wire length you put up gets a carabiner, spring, and wire lock. One end is enough; No spring needed at the other end. As to the wire locks—stick the wire in the end of the lock opposite the hook. Push the wire in, it comes out the side of the lock, and is held in place. (Push the button you stuck the wire through to release the wire—if you ever need to.) To make loops on the ends of the wire elsewhere—you’ll need to do this— stick the wire end through a “sleeve”—see the image, a sleeve is one of the little things in the little bag—and stick the wire back through the sleeve from the other side. Hold the wire and sleeve, and flatten the sleeve with pliers or Vice grips to hold the wires sleeve and sleeve grips and the loop so the loop stays in place. Feeling the need to be fail safe? Use 2 sleeves to make each loop, one sleeve next to each other. How to attach to a tree? See the image. One option is to make a separate, short band of wire around the tree, with a little extra, put a flattened sleeve and loop on each end of this band of wire, and clip the ends of the band to the carabiner near the spring. Get to it! It goes fast! It’s rewarding too, you feel accomplished!

If you are hanging heavier string lights, a vinyl coated 3/16 cable wire will work much better.In the 1st pic you can see the light on this wire where it's sagging. I pulled it tight and tensioned it more with the turn buckle. As soon as I put the lights, it sagged. It's a good kit probably for something else. In the first pic also, you can see where I have the 3/16 wire on top of the sagging 1/16 wire with the lights. On the second pic after I transferred the lights to the 3/16th wire, no sagging. It handled the weight no problem.

Perfect kit for hanging lights and other small projects around the house. Would definitely recommend.

This kit is awesome! I used this kit to span a 48ft. area between our house and some trees and hung the lights from the cable. I had enough cable for two runs and I probably have enough for a third. The hooks at then end the the cable feed through are brilliant! Makes super easy work of adjusting the tension on the cables. The "instructions" are right here in the listing. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to use this kit.The quality is excellent, the springs have plenty of strength, even for a long run like mine. All polished stainless steel materials.I highly recommend this product if you are going to hang your lights with this kit.One recommendation, if you are hanging the popular "cafe" lights with the bulbs that hang down about 6 inches or so, you will need to use "S" hooks to hang each bulb by the hanger to the cable. I just went and purchased 5/64 small hooks and crimped them closed after hanging them on the wire. Works like a charm!
