Perfect for every day carry
I own a lot of retro handhelds and this one is just so nice to be the one I carry around daily. the folding clamshell just makes it better for travel without worrying about it getting damaged.

A 90's kid dream come true!
It's a great gift for kids or gamers who want retro nostalgia. the clamshell design works perfectly if you are on the go and need to stop playing to focus on everyday things, it is ultra-portable while still maintaining proper ergonomics without leaving your hands feeling cramped. The stock OS is great but I did install MuOS on it for a more customized feel to it.

Perfect Clamshell for those Gameboy SP vibes (update to the latest firmware)
The RG35XX SP is one of 2024's best reviewed retro emulation handhelds and for good reason. It's well builtIt "fidgets" wellIt emulates awesome (get that latest firmware)It has strong support for 3rd party custom firmwares (if you don't like the stock experience)It used to be that the first thing you would do on an Anbernic handheld would be to replace the stock firmware with basically anything else you could find that would run on it. It was that bad.Not. Any. More.I have to applaude Anbernic for continuing to evolve and improve their OS experience. There's still room for improvement, but nothing that is a "deal braker" IMOSure, I'd like the stock OS to have screen scraping on board. I'd also like it to have OTA firmware updates. I would love it to be more customizable that it is, but does it play games? Yes. Does it do it well while being easy to use? Yes.Nearly every Anbernic device I've held in my hands has given me the impression of being well built, and the RG35XX SP is no exception to that.Even in the past, when there have been QC issues, they'll take care of it and then improve future production to correct for it.All the while, they continue to pump out different models on what seems to be a nearly monthly basis. If there isn't a handheld from Anbernic that suits you, I'd venture to say nothing will please you!

One of my favorites
I love these handhelds. The operating system is clean and easy to use. Tons of preloaded games. All of the games I tested ran pretty well. The build quality is quite nice. Very similar look and feel to a gamer advance SP. the screen is very clear and bright. I’d say this is a good value overall.

Very fun, expandable and great screen and performance, lots of games
The media could not be loaded. This thing is a ton of fun. Lots of games, expandable and great performance. The only downside - there are a few quirks with the installed games. For example one section is called "Vertical Arcade", they're actually presented sideways on the screen, making it impossible to play. (See the F1 game screens) Maybe there is a way to change the orientation in the settings? I haven't dug in far enough to see.All the other games (and there are LOTS) are great fun and work perfectly.Highly recommended.
