Super easy! It's a pod just like the regular dishwasher pods. Drop it in the slot that the regular pods go into, close it and set the cycle. I use the PowerBlast cycle which also sanitizes it. I bought my dishwasher new 2 yrs ago and it was a recommendation to do it monthly to keep it running at peak proficiency. I haven't had any problems.

Q: Since using the platimum product, some of my glasses have taken on a yellowish tinge and my aluminum measuring cups have a powdering residue. Why?

I am very careful about putting aluminum. It depends on the quality so I never put aluminum that I care about in a dishwasher. The same goes for pewter. As for glasses, I always put them on the top shelf. A good thing is to always check if your pots, dishes, glasses may come with a warning that they are not dishwasher safe. It could also be you need to add a rinse agent

Q: Should you use a separate rinse aid with cascade platinum? I read it has the rinse aid built into the packet. Is using both overkill?

I’ve used it with and without a rinse aid and I like the results either way. Sometimes it depends on your water. The last placed I lived had hard water so I used both always.

Q: Does the platinum plus come un scented?

I am not sure but it hasn't bothered us and we get unscented soaps etc., so it can't be bad if if it is scented.
