This perfume smells so delicious. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from people when I go to the store. It’s pricey and you have to spray quite a bit for the scent to stay on. It doesn’t stay on all day though. That’s why you have to spray quite a bit.

This perfume is a hidden , jewel,not much nothing but nothing bad to say about it not a lot of information about it but it’s a beautiful strawberry perfume grown-up strawberry. I wish I got the bigger bottle. It is absolutely gorgeous. You can wear this all year long is similar to Burberry one of the Burberry perfumes very nice but grown.

What has happened to Oscar? I bought Oscar parfum, not eau de parfum in 2012. It was expensive and perfect. The scent was exactly what Oscar should smell like. What the heck is this stuff???? It bites the nose, and when I opened the package, the top had come apart and spilled some into the box. Oscar should be a warm scent. Despite the review that I see at the top of this page, it is NOT strawberry scent. It has a gardenia type smell, hence the reason the original bottles had a gardenia flower on it. I am not returning it because it is after all a perfume, but trust me, it is NOT Oscar

I was expecting realistic fresh fruity delight, but it just smells like sweet indistinct fruit water. Cloying and immature. I've loved Alibi for years, adored other fragrances from Oscar de la Renta, but this is a let down. I will update this review if I find it smells differently in warmer weather. But for now it's a disappointment.

Smells Wonderful

I remember my mother wearing Oscar de la Renta perfume. It has that old school vibe from just the branding. I like floral and or fruity scents. My favorites are Burberry Her and Jimmy Choo I Want Choo Forever. Oscar de La Renta perfumers have dived into this scent profile and created Oscar de la Renta New York. This signature fragrance gives me upon first spray a strong strawberry note much like Burberry Her. It is not overly sweet because there is a note of Pink Pepper in that first spritz. It tempers the sweetness of the strawberry. Usually, I do not like pink pepper in fragrances but it is not overly strong here. There are no strong aldehydes that you might expect from this fragrance. They were commonly used in the 60's and 70's fragrances.As this dries down, it becomes more floral and loses its fruitiness. I missed those fruit notes. Thanks to the sugar scent molecules, this is a somewhat sweeter fragrance in the dry down. The drydown was not as exciting as those opening notes. There is a rather strange note and I realized later it is the clary sage. This is most prominent about 20 minutes after I sprayed the perfume on my skin. I am not overly fond of clary sage and fortunately, it does not last throughout the scent bubble this perfume creates. It did overshadow the rose and Iris notes. About an hour after spraying this I could detect the musky notes and the soft vanilla fragrance, albeit, it was a little sweeter than I expected. The projection is average. This lasted about three hours on my skin. This is a modern-day fragrance that will appeal to a large audience. I liked this fragrance but did not love it. The Clary sage note was not to my liking but the opening and closing notes are quite pretty.
