It's very difficult to make the Swivel Plates actually swivel. I really had to work to get the plates to move a little bit. I tried adding a few drops of oil into the steel ball bearings, and the only thing that happened was the oil dripped out (the ball bearings are visible between the plates and are not sealed from dust or contaminates. I am making a bar stool using an old tractor seat, but won't be using this swivel plate since it just doesn't swivel.

My stool was floppy and hard to rotate.. It isn't any longer! Tight spins freely and was a cinch to install. I wish I had replaced it long ago.
