It has some magnesium in it and other microelements, see https://www.bgi-usa.com/palmgain/ It is good for all species of palms, according to the description. Keep in mind that it is high In urea (so it smells), however, the smell goes mostly away after watering.

Banana fertilizer 16-8-24 is best to use

Q: How would you apply this product to staghorn ferns?

For staghorn ferns you can use diluted fish emulsion every 3 weeks or 8-8-8 fertilizer

Q: Would this be a good mix to give my ponytail palm, since it’s actually a yucca?

Yes, I use this product for my ponytail palms and it does deepen the green foliage. Do not overuse, especially in potted palms. Also, if you have anything around the tree that is white, move it before application as it will turn a rusty brown color. Once it's applied and watered, I spread a thin layer of sandy soil over the top before replacing white stone, shells, etc.
