10 oz. Bull Denim Natural, Fabric by the Yard

It is a very nice lightweight utility canvas that is also known as duckcloth. Denim has a diagonal thread woven between that makes it what it is. This fabric is missing that tweed, but it is truly wonderful. Washes nicely. The natural cotton retains my Zum Patchouli very well - ahhhh!I reordered because I like it. It suits my project and I may not have been as happy with denim as I thought. Hmmm. I wanted to gift a bespoke Potter's Split Overall and this is perfect for a comfortable utility smock. I used polyester utility thread on a Singer Quantum. The thickest seam in this garment is 12 layers. The grommet is a brass 10mm in 'bronze'.Would be a perfect fabric for handwoven rug backing. A plein aire painter would enjoy making an organic canvas from this (my wheels are turning).

This a high quality fabric of a medium/light weight. I used it to make slipcovers for cushions and I am pleased. The color is very light, maybe lighter than I had expected but it has nice medium and light ‘flecks ‘ to give it some texture. The weave is tight so it made good slipcovers.

Absolutely beautiful fabric. I am so pleased with this. It shipped VERY quickly and arrived before I even had the tracking number. It upholsters flawlessly; my workroom told me it was one of the best-holding fabrics they'd ever seen. It does not 'feel' like regular denim but is much softer and very comfortable. I am very pleased with this fabric and would definitely recommend to anyone!

I purchased this fabric because it said it was 10oz bull denim. I use bull denim frequently as linings in bags I make and I love the softness but thickness and weave of this type of fabric. I’ve bought from various online stores and I’ve always been happy with the result. The fabric I received here is clearly not bull denim, in fact it is exactly identical to an off white canvas fabric I already have. This fabric is thick but not soft and has a different weave which matches my other canvas exactly. Please be aware that if you are ordering this fabric you may be getting canvas fabric like I did and not bull denim. Disappointed that it’s advertised incorrectly.

I don't think I got the 10 oz. natural bull denim. What I received is very heavy, tightly woven and I'm not even sure if my little sewing machine will sew it. Sadly, I was desperate so I did cut some to start a project so I probably can't return it.

I used it as the business layer of my c. 1680 boned bodice and it worked beautifully. Stiff and tightly woven while not being too heavy. I'll definitely use it again for stays and similar weight projects!

The color and strength are perfect for machine embroidery quilt squares. I will be back for more soon.

Maybe I don’t know what what bull denim is because this is much heavier and stiffer than what I expected. I don’t want to try it with my sewing machine because it is so stiff. I don’t know why some reviews say it’s thin or lightweight because that is opposite than what I received. I would return it but I only bought one yard and don’t want to have to pay postage so I will find some purpose for it.
