This filter media comes in 2 zippered fine mesh bags. The filter media works exactly the same as Purigen, making the water crystal clear. It clears up tannins in the water as well. Make sure to first rinse the media. Once the media turns brown you can renew it. It works exactly like purigen, but a better value.

So I made a spur of the moment decision to set up an aquarium and had spent so much money getting this accomplished. The driftwood I purchased leaked tannins so bad and my aquarium looked really sad lol. I heard about Purigen but because I already spent so much money and also had to buy a regular filter to use for the Purigen, I searched for other options. I came across Puriresin and was scared to try it because some of the reviews I saw (OVERALL PURIGEN HAS BETTER REVIEWS). I decided to give this product a try anyway so I purchased it along with a filter to put the Puriresin in. Let me tell you hunty… Within a few hours, my tank was totally clear! I was so happy and so impressed! I also hear you can recharge this bad boy and for that, I AM TOO EXCITED! 😆What a great product! I am so excited this has worked for me! An affordable and easy to use option! I have a 20 gallon high tank.Good luck to you, if you try this out!

Update 12/28/2024: I had gone back and forth with this company and they tried a new mesh bag and sourced an entirely new resin that turns pure white with about just 25-40% bleach in as little as 30 minutes. I’m currently using version 2 of their new batch and am placing an order for another 15 bags today!!!Update: 09/17/2024I am updating to 4 stars because I have an extremely over stocked fish tank and these bags are keeping them happy and eating despite high ammonia levels and nitrates. It seems to help.Update: 09/12/2024Sadly I must give this product downgraded to 3 stars for tedious waste of bleach Clorox amount to get about 90% clean. If you want 100% cream color you have to dip it twice and that’s way too much. It doesn’t clean well with just one dip. I’m currently using Purigen again.Update: 08/18/2024I attached a new picture showing exhausted and cleaned. I also removed the resin from the original mesh bag that was sorta air pocketed. Now no more air pockets. Easier to absorb and clean.Update: 08/04/2024.About 3 weeks later since first purchase.You must dip these in at least 50% - 75% bleach plus water at least 3 times one per night for 3 nights to get it to the cream color in the photos. This is my second round of maintenance and I’ve bought over 30 packs already. The bag is very air tight to some extent so you have to shake it around in the bleach water solution for a few minutes before letting it sit overnight otherwise you’ll get some resin not fully cleaned out. It will never reach the pure white it once was when you first get it out of the pouch. I change it out and rotate 8-12 packs per week with another 8-12 packs.I attached 4 pictures. One is when it’s exhausted for the most part.Other 3 pics show how they look after dipping in 75% Clorox bleach and 25% water. It’s almost perfectly white but it’s more of a cream color. I must say it takes 2-3 rounds of bleaching before all stains drop off completely but don’t do it at 50-50 ratio for bleach and water, do it at 75% and it is more effective for me the second round I cleaned the next batch of these bags.The bag is super durable feel and touch.The same cream color when Purigen is put under water is what you see in the pictures.The smell disappears quickly from my tank.The performance is insanely good!Filter at its finest in decades!It lasts 3-4 times longer than Purigen between cleanings. One pouch handles up to 100 gallons but I use 12 in my over stocked tank and my god my tank clarity is immaculate. I use these in my two 110 aquaclear Fluval filter.Prices are about 60% cheaper than Purigen per pack too.What else can I say?Despite being made in China, whoever engineered these resin knew what they were doing!If Seachem can match and beat the value, durability, and longer lasting performance then I will consider going back to them.

So it really comes down to the fact that why would I spend so much more money on the “other” resin from the major brand? This is the same resin and works just the same! It’s sad that the “other” resin doesn’t just drop their price. At any rate…pay more or pay less for the same product! It’s your choice!
