A crimper made for one job, it does it almost well.
So, this crimper is designed, specifically, to install Anderson powerpole style crimp on connectors, that you then insert into the red and black plastic shield. There is a heavy plastic jig that holds the little crimp on gadgets. So, it crimps the small and medium connectors perfectly. The large ones ain't so great. It has a top gate that is not quite wide enough for the large wire connectors I bought. The small and medium connectors are tubular connectors and easy to crush. The large connectors have wings that need to be folded over the wire for a successful crimp. To make them work I had to pre-squeeze the wings. If I didn't squeeze the wings, the crimper would fold the wings the wrong way and you would not get a good mechanical connection.I had a crimper. I had a general purpose crimper with a lot of anvils, one of them would have worked. But you need three hands, one to hold the crimp connector, one to hold the wire and one to work the crimper. The plastic jig becomes your third hand. Push the connector all the way into the little hole, and it is stable. Push the wire in and work the ratcheting crimper. Only two hands needed at any point. It seems I'm collecting crimpers. That hex crimper that does nothing but ferrules is the smoothest crimper of the lot. This one, second but still five star. The general purpose crimper is kinda crappy but it will crimp. The worst of the lot is the ethernet connector crimper I bought. But it seems like crimpers are things you collect and use a few times because these days crimpers are becoming specialized. That said, I'm a ham radio hobbiest. DC power and the powerpoles are endemic, you need to connect batteries for field operations or power supplies to radios and other bench items. Of all my crimpers, this is the one I use most often. This is one that I can usually use without cursing or having my wife, "Just hold it there! Perfect! Damn it, you moved!" and that ends with going out for dinner. (Alva Diner is our current fave, hole in the wall that makes the best burgers I've ever had in a restaurant. )

Produces solid crimps every time.
After wasting time with cheap crimpers and bad connections, I gave in and bought these. They work great! They have a "shelf" in the die where you place the Power Pole wiper. Squeeze the crimpers and produce an identical and solid crimp every time.

Crimps, but not great
These are ratcheting crimpers for 45 amp contacts, but had issues. The contacts I used were genuine and were larger gauge, so it was almost in a "U" instead of a barrel type crimp. I crimped 6 wires fine, but then the "U" part of the crimp got bent the wrong way, instead of correctly on 3 of the crimps. These connectors aren't cheap, which is why it's important to me that the crimp is successful the first time. Either way, after the successful crimps, I do like to add a little solder.Maybe this is normal, but it's the first time I've experienced something like this before. I will say that there are little slots at the back of the crimper so that the connector fits in well. Just for whatever reason, it just seemed to not crimp the connectors great.**Updated Review**: To my surprise, the seller reached out to me regarding my experience and offered a full refund without jumping through any hoops. In my previous experience, the seller will offer you a refund, but then you have to do a number of things to make it happen. This seller just messaged me, asked if I wanted one, and made it happen. As a result, I added 2 stars to my review just because the seller stands by their product.

Crimp It Good
Very good quality crimper. Works very well. Heavy duty construction. You can feel the built in quality of the tool. I looked at many other name brands and for the price and the project need, this was the best choice. This tool was even better than many of the name brand models. Your getting the quality, ease of use of the highly talked about name brand models for a generic price without all the high priced hoopla. Perfect for those only need one time jobs to I’ve gotta use every day jobs. Why pay the high price and maybe not be satisfied when you can have all of the good of those name brand high priced tools for a generic price and be just as satisfied if not even more…you just saved a lot of money and got a great tool.

You get what you pay for
The crimpers work fine. The major problem is the crimped connector's will not stay lock in the black and red housing's. Don't waste your time putting on the dust covers, you will have to keep them pulled out of the way so you can reconnect the wire into the housing.I thought I would save some money and get some off brand Anderson power pole connectors. Don't do it the original are amazing, stick to them even if they are $40, that is money well spent on something you can count on.
