It works so well!!!
I love plants, my kitten lives dirt. You see the problem.I have an addiction to indoor plants, mostly near the TV on a tower and on the TV stand. My kitten would jump on there and scoop the dirt out of the pots and play with it. It sucked waking up in the morning and having to clean the dirt off the floor and on furniture.I didn't see any solutions other than a mat like this. I put it on the TV stand, which is how he reaches fhs majority of the plants. It works! It isn't enough of a shock to harm him, I've tried it myself. He does this little body jolt when he goes on it and jumps right off.The threat of seeing it alone has deterred him. It is currently off to save battery, and he doesn't even try. He checks out the area every now and then, and he sees it and moves on.I will say that sometimes it doesn't work. I've noticed that if the beep and shock is on, it doesn't work well for some reason on both of the ones I bought. But it works perfectly when it's just the shock without the beep.Buy it if you're on the fence.

Nope. Doesn’t work
Doesn’t work on my cats. Also it doesn’t lay flat. We had to use double sided tape to keep it down on our wood flooring. I can’t imagine what you would do keep it flat on carpet. Had it a month and it went in the trash.

Works...
The media could not be loaded. We have dogs, including a 6 month old fairly stubborn, yet very intelligent, male puppy. He is a service dog in training & doing very well. One of his bad habits he has though, is to tear through the house from the dog run to get into the bag of dog food in the pantry, if the door happened to be left open. We need to break him of this habit because it won't serve him or his handler if the dog is so motivated by food that one day he bolts across a restaurant to nab a burger off someone's table. With him being a puppy, of course we are being patient with him, but want to continue moving forward with his training, which this pet training mat has allowed. He now wants NO part of the food bag in the pantry if the door is left open by kids who forget to close it. SCORE for him & us! The mat is also being used to prime him for a shock collar in our yard, which he is not old enough to begin that training. This pet training mat has 3 intensity modes as well as 3 options (beep, static/shock, & static WITH beep. The beep is not super loud, but loud enough for him to associate the beep with the shock & NOT a good idea.I accidentally shocked myself & it was not bad... it caught me off guard because I thought the mat was off (it was not! lol), but nothing major. It is NOWHERE near as intense as getting shocked via an electrical outlet while scraping paint off of it with a butter knife or screwdriver (just trust me! lol) & your hand slips, allowing the metal object to go into the outlet. THAT SUCKS! lol This mat, is nothing like that.We unintentionally discovered that the mat will NOT shock someone if they have clothing, socks, shoes, etc between them & the mat... if you have bare feet, you WILL get shocked... bare hands, YEP! So if you have a pet in training, do not put shoes, socks, boots, or anything on their feet or body that will break contact with them & the mat.The mat is EASY to clean.. just wipe it down with a damp cloth.. make sure to turn it OFF first. NO, I did not make that mistake myself... I learned enough from the butter knife & screwdriver in the outlet incident. lolWe are also using this mat to keep the dogs off of the couch, off my teen's bed unless the service dog is invited up onto the bed or tasking, as well as to keep the dogs from roaming when we need them contained in the room we are in with them.Overall, great training tool! If I have cats again, I will absolutely use this to train them to stay off of the counters, etc.I would purchase this again!

Worked until it didn’t
At first this mat worked great and kept my nosey dogs out of the trash cans. After 2 shocks the dogs stayed clear of the trash without it ever having to be turned on. When I had to replace the batteries and relocate the mat, it stopped working. I could step on it directly without any shock occurring. My dogs stepped on it and then simply walked over it with no worries. It was a great product when it worked, but then became just another pice of plastic on the floor. So disappointing….

Stopped my cat from bothering my sister
My cat has a strong curiosity towards my sisters door/room. He would wake her up in the middle of the nights trying to get inside her room. We tried many different ways to get him to stop but this is the only device that did the trick. It is NOT painful; I made sure to test it on myself multiple times before allowing him to find out for himself, but the static shock strikes enough fear into him that he stays completely away. The only thing that sucks about this is that you have to recalibrate every now and then for the full mat to function or else it will only sense pressure in certain spots. This isn't an issue anymore though since my cat learned his lesson. Worth every penny. Oh and I wish there was some sort of light adhesive on the bottom so that it wouldn't slide around so easily.
