Very high quality, excellent features, and very practical if you use multiple devices!
The SCORP Mini 2 arrived safely, and it comes neatly packed and presented in an illustrated retail box. For the money you get quite of lot of accessories and cables which I really like, especially the magnetic fill light! The overall quality of the gimbal kit is brilliant, it looks and feels well made, its lightweight, and the quality of the materials are very good indeed. The multi-functional L-shaped quick release plate is an excellent design as it allows you to quickly swap between various devices including phones, cameras, and action cameras (up to 1.2kg). I also love the under-handle design along with the integrated joystick, it feels better for control and comfort compared to normal stick type gimbals and allows you to hold it for longer periods of time. There is a handy dial on the side which controls the rotation of the gimbal such as the tilt, pan and roll. The touchscreen is also easy to understand and operate as well as being brighter so you can still see it in the sunlight. The intelligent tracking feature is another highlight for this gimbal. It does an excellent job of tracking the subject, keeping it in frame, and it pans very smoothly whether it’s a person or object. You can also use gesture controls such as using the ok symbol to start and stop tracking and the gestures are very useful if you’re working on your own.Battery life is another strong area, and it should be able to give you continuous operation for up to 10 hours. Even if it runs low on battery, you can charge it up quiet quickly so its always ready to go.Overall, I think this is an excellent, and very practical all in one gimbal and whether you are an amateur or professional I think you will love the features that you get on this Mini 2. For around the £300 mark with all the accessories represents good value for money for what you are getting. It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel its easily worth the full five stars, buy with total confidence!

Eye / Face tracking works well
Purchased after reading other reviews on the web. Works well when filming video, and friends were impressed with the automatic face tracking feature.

Unfortunately no matter what the company claims in the specification…
No matter what the specification claims this unit can operate under. In reality even at 60-70% of the claimed weight it can operate with. It sets the motors to 100% after calibration and struggles to actually operate smoothly. The app is clunky and needs a lot of refinement to be useable.R&D before releasing products is my advice.I think Walter Mitty writes most of the specification and reviews on Amazon Uk.It’s very hard to believe what you read, and actually see it in a product you purchase.Constructive feedback, I have many Feiyu products bought direct from Feiyu that operate as should. The company does ditch product updates within 12-18months on some products.beware.

An easy to setup and use gimbal you can grow with
The FeiyuTech SCORP Mini 2 gimbal kit is a compact lightweight gimbal that comes packaged in a decent hard travel case. The kit’s contents are impressive; in includes a carbon fibre extension tube, 8 separate camera connecting cables that range from usb c, mini and micro as well as apples lightning cables that allow for good control over the camera to ttl style cables that control opening and closing the shutter or triggering a movie to record. Besides the cables to control the recording device the kit also includes a tiny little video light; this has variable brightness and 3 colour temperatures. The gimbal itself charges by USB-C.There are plates to connect cameras, action cameras and phones. The design of the brackets is different; you don’t have to use the l bracket you can mount the camera for horizontal and vertical shooting. When you do mount a phone or action camera, I found the balancing to be a few seconds and it was done. Camera wise the gimbals motors can support up to 1500g; I used a Panasonic G9 ii with a 12-60 on the gimbal and it balanced in under a minute; though the balance point made switching from vertical to horizontal orientation in the gimbal difficult as the eye cup caught on the motor. When shooting with the g9ii the gimbal supplied power to the camera.Once mounted the gimbal works very well; either as a manual control in your hands or used remotely controlled by the FeiyuTech app installed on my phone. If you need a virtual camera operator to film, you the Scorp Mini 2 has a sensor that will track you as you move around. There are two apps: one for remote control and one for shooting on your phone. The second app allows the tracking feature to work when shooting on your phone. Having person tracking will be very useful for shooting yourself.IN use the gimbal is super quiet; even using the built in microphones I couldn’t hear the motors running on the audio. The app enables some photographic modes including timelapses, motion timelapses and panoramas. I found the panoramas weren’t well setup; even with a camera running on a usb cable it took images whilst moving. This happened after upgrading the firmware. All in its an interesting product as a good 3 axis gimbal it is very good with a phone. It allows for more ancillary equipment to be mounted than dedicated phone gimbals. Being able to mount phones, action cameras, compact and smaller mirrorless cameras make this a gimbal you can grow with.
