I got this for my mom's house so she doesn't have to get up to turn off the ceiling fan and turn off the light. It works excellent, and was super easy to install. After the installation I connected it to Alexa and now she can turn the thing on and off all day long!

Every switch in my home is now a Tuya / Smart Life WiFi switch. All 71 of them. Single-gang, two-gang, 4-gang, simple switches, dimmers, 2-way and even a 3-way switch, fan controllers, pool pump controllers, plus a garage door opener and some smart plugs. I've had to put in two more 2.4GHz Access Points for my home network to provide enough slots in the WiFi channels but they all work wonderfully. Home Automation a go-go.I bought this fan/light controller for fans on my deck which have peculiar wiring needs: no separate light and fan wires from the switch and only a live and neutral feed. I chose this over other similar portable-remote ones because this one has a dimmer feature not just a light on/off feature. Sometimes it would be useful to turn the lights up after an evening.It all works wonderfully. Integrates with all my home automations. Mostly happy.BUTThe dimmer feature does not work. I can move the slider but there is no change to the intensity of the LED bulbs, and yes, they are dimmable and do dim in my other dimmable circuits. My other dimmer switches offer a configuration page where I can choose between three different dimming methods (unhelpfully identified as modes 1, 2, or 3) and set upper and lower dimming bounds. This switch offers no such configuration and evidently the dimmable LED bulbs I use are not compatible with the switch's single mode.I will keep the switch since it is installed and I have not lost anything. I am just sad that I chose this one to get the dimming feature which does not work.Somewhat annoyingly, the remote docks with a provided single-wide switch panel, and all my switches are 2- or 3- wide panels. I have had to butcher a 3-wide to fabricate a method to install the custom remote receptacle into a 3-panel box. Another design of fan switch I have uses a remote which is the same size as a regular rocker switch so that was easy-peasy to integrate.There is also a 3-position slider for choosing between 3 color temperatures. Not sure how that would or could work since I do not think there is a standardized signal over 120V wiring to a bulb, and nor does there seem to be a way to link the selector to control bulb(s) using a separate side-channel method. If I figure it I will update this review.Finally, I had to make sure the order was for a white switch rather than black or almond and the item I received is white. The same white as everything else. So, as of September 2024 the color mismatch issue reported in other reviews seems to have been solved.

My fan has 3 more small wires that I don't know what to do with. The light works great. But I can't get the fan to work at all. The transever clicks but nothing happens

Update, this trash broke after a few months, don’t buy any of these!!!These things are great, I have five. The biggest problem is that they randomly talk to each other when using the RF connection from the wall remote to the receiver in the fan. I turn on one room and it comes on but so does another room on the other side of the house (sometimes). I don’t believe that this happens when you use Alexa. I would love it if the company contacted me and let meKnow how to fix this (if it’s possible). I’d give five stars it if wasn’t for this issue. These things are too expensive since to have this happen….

Purchased this item some months ago and right out of the box I was able to install and connect the device to wifi using the Smart Life App. The device also connected to Alexa. However, this connection on lasted for about two days and I have never been able to reconnect the device to my wifi network. I’ve followed the instructions to reset the device, I’ve disabled the 5ghz wifi signal on my network, I’ve mapped the signal by the fan which was also great. Bottom line, nothing I’ve tried have allowed me to reconnect to my WiFi network.

Replaced my original remote for ceiling fan.Opted for black, being white always turns yellow.Works fan speed and light dimmer perfectly.
