Absolutely Beautiful.
Anybody who likes art would fall in love with his art. Words don't do it justice you should get it for your self and see for your self. But art like this isn't for just seeing it's the way you feel when seeing it. Art is felt like music is felt, it's a feeling that you can't describe.

Damaged Outer Cover
Nice book, but disappointed the damage on the cover; looks like a second hand book unfortunately.

GOOD POINTS > Small A5 size very 'thick' book consisting of nearly 800 pages in its bible-like length...!
GOOD Points(4 stars):> Publishers: Taschen: very well known for producing really beautiful books; yet, inexpensively.> Extremely well written, and, very carefully researched by scholars...explaining all about Michelangelo life/history/times.> 800 pages thick 'huge' bible-like catalogue of Michelanglo's works; including, -> drawings -> paintings -> sculptures -> architecture -> poetry(some)> I liked seeing the full size picture reproductions both as: double page spreads/and, also, single page.BAD points(-1 star):> The A5 sized text is rather difficult to both see/read...instead, you have to hold the book up really close towards both your eyes.> On some pages, the text has to compete against the picture reproductions in order to go fill up page space...this results in picture reproductions being shown on only...half a page/or, quarter a page/or, less...which is far too small to be able to see the picture's really fine details, effectively?!CONCLUSION:If you were 'an artist'/or, even potential artist(like me)...then, I would very highly recommend you buy a much bigger format book, instead: A4/A3/basically, 'the bigger the better'....that's if you wish to both 'see/copy' from much clearer picture reproductions. If you want a compact, portable, well written, and, carefully documented huge 'catalogue' of the great Michelangelo's work...which one can very quickly dip into in order to: read/see/flick through...; then, this book is, well and truly, 'excellent'.

Fantastic book awesome artwork.
I wanted it for the art work and I couldn't have done it better my self. This book was just what I wanted with full inscription of the art as well which to me is a bonus. The art is photographed in high resolution which is absolutely fantastic and beautiful, a definite must have for your bookshelf. 10/10

Great for those who want a smaller book
The media could not be loaded. This is a great book and I'm sure people who would want a smaller, compact version of the larger Taschen books would love this. There are a couple of issues though: 1) sometimes a double-page spread artwork gets lost in the middle of the book, as the pages can't spread far enough to see the art; 2) there are a lot of smaller pictures, mainly nearing the end of the book, which makes it hard to see the details in the art. I've included a video flip-through of the book and some of my first impressions. I hope this will help anyone considering buying this book.

Not to be missed.
The whole experience in Hull Minster was mind blowing. The work that went into the exhibition was unbelievable ,and those responsible deserve a really, really big pat on the back. Well done.
