Not a good commercial lock!
The product was not as anticipated. My husband got locked inside because the handle would open and operate correctly. A total mess!!

Commercial locking door handle with occupancy indicator
These commercial size locking door handles were what I needed to replace broken door handles in the bathrooms of three of the restaurant locations I work for. As these are for commercial uses, they will not fit in the typical residential usage which is good to keep in mind if you want to use them that way. As I have a few more locations that I need to replace the handles in, hopefully the longevity will be good for these items.

Sturdy product, but beware when installing on doors less than 2 inches thick
To dispel misinformation from other reviews you may be reading, this door handle IS REVERSABLE, so it can be used on both left-handed and right-handed doors. I had to reverse the handle in my case. The instructions that come with it show you how to reverse it.The instructions say you can install this door handle on doors that are 1 3/8" to 2" thick. This is true, but there's a catch. If you have a door that is less than 2" thick, you may have to trim the stem like I did (3rd attached pic with red circle) to have it work properly. The door I installed mine on is 1 3/8" thick, and the stem was too long, so it prevented the internal handle from locking/clicking into place, causing some of the issues you may have read from other reviews:- The handle kept getting locked by itself when turning the handle- The "vacant" and "in-use" doesn’t line up properly- The indicator also refused to turn all the way when it was reversed, getting stuck halfway between the two settingsI ran into these same issues when installing it. Initially, I had to hammer the internal handle to get it to lock/click into place so that when you pull the internal handle, it doesn't slide off. What this did, in my case, was the stem was pushing against the locking switch, making it hard to turn the locking switch to try to lock the door, in addition to the above listed issues. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that the stem was too long, so I cut it down to size by a few centimeters using an oscillating saw. You can also try to file or sand it down using whatever tools you have available.Once the stem was trimmed down a bit so that it doesn't push against the locking switch in the internal handle, it worked like a charm, and I currently have no issues. I hope this helps other when they try to install theirs.

Bathroom Lock, OK Quality
I installed this lock in a commercial building. It is nice that people waiting for the bathroom can see if it is occupied. The handle mechanism is a bit cumbersome when opening it from the inside the bathroom when locked. It wont open unless you turn the small knob first. Others if have used in the past you could just turn the handle and it will unlock and open the door. This one does not. The tendency is to yank on the handle hard thinking it will open which may eventually cause it damage.

Terrible assembly on rose cover
The rose cover took a master mechanic to release it from the basic assembly. The rose cover and inter mechanical part is machined too tightly together. Poor design.
