Koenig SAS-CARCAM10 Onboard Cam - Amatuer User Review 26 Aug 2015
At under £40 excluding the required Mini Disk (max 32Gb at about £10) I found the pleasantly compact CarCam10 to be excellent value in both Video and Camera Modes, whether it is being used in or out of the car, giving excellent daylight HD quality Videos or Photos which are easily reviewed in Playback Mode, but images are best viewed on the computer by transferring from the Mini Disk (via an SD Card converter), when excellent hardcopy colour photoprints can also be obtained, all date and time stamped, as are videos There is a comprehensive User Manual, but the optically challenged may have to enlarge the small print using a photocopier - twice A4-A3 enlargement - but the manual is worth studying and once conversant with all the options these are easily programmable using the CarCam Menu buttons. Regarding out of car use, the fully charged CarCam battery will permit taking numerous photos but video time is limited, and the battery can be charged either in car or from the mains. On a slightly negative note the image quality during my preliminary use of night time InfraRed Mode was not as successful, but it was a very preliminary test and I still have to fully pursue this aspect.

DOES NOT ALWAYS RECORD AND BAD TO SET UP.

Fix and forget.
Fix and forget. It's there and doing it's job, records well although the angle could do with being just a little wider.

Does not stick!!!
The camera suction pad & bracket mount would not stick to any part of the windscreen. Therefore for me the dashcam was useless & the camera was returned for a refund.

Small, neat, great!!!
I searched around for weeks for a dashcam that fitted my requirements, namely under £50 and of a compact size. Quite a few of those I looked at were nice looking but when checking the dimensions were quite large and obtrusive. I stumbled across this one quite far down the list on Amazon, and I'm not sure what it's doing down there. I have never heard of this brand but I gather it's Korean and seems to be quite reputable. Once the box arrived I knew this was going to be a very compact device, just the right size. It's the same size as a Turkish delight bar (the ones in pink wrapper), just a little bit thicker. This means it sits nicely in front of my rear view mirror and if it wasn't for the cable plugging it into the cigarette lighter I really wouldn't know it was there. In the box you get the camera, USB lead to connect to computer, lead to connect to cigarette lighter, and the suction mount for the windscreen. The instructions are terrible and don't really offer any info, so I just played around with it and worked it all out myself. It takes a micro sd card, not included, but once this is inserted it's ready to go. Affixing the camera to the suction mount is easy, you slide it into the groove and it's held in place very securely. Affixing the suction mount to the windscreen was also easy. Simply remove the plastic cover, moisten the suction pad, stick on the screen and push the lever to fix it in place. It feels like it's glued to the screen, very secure.Onto the recording. The screen is tiny, but I'm happy with that as I don't want to be distracted. I believe the screen is only useful when setting up the angle of the camera, I don't need to see what's going on in front of me all the time. The quality of the video is really excellent. When viewed on a PC it's HD quality and very clear, even at night. By far the best quality I've seen on a dashcam.Downsides. The instructions are awful, don't bother reading them. A trade off for the very compact size is that the buttons are very small and fiddly. In addition, I found the connector for the car charging cable on the camera is in a really silly place. I set it all up, then when coming to insert the connector found its right where the suction mount connects to the camera. It just about fits in but it's a very tight squeeze and resulted in a lot of fiddling around. Why they put the hole there I really do not know! As with all dashcams I've encountered, the battery when not connected to the car charger is pathetic. I don't understand how an iPhone can be powered for hours on end, yet the battery in one of these lasts just 20 minutes. I'd much prefer this if you could use it without wires hanging out, but the battery drains far too quickly. So, would I recommend this? Definitely. It's a high quality product, very vety compact and neat. Yes they seem to have traded some practicality for the small size, but I'll get used to it. Overall, a very good camera and I'm happy I bought it. It's not perfect, but it comes close
