Best wirless controller
This is the best wireless controller I have used in a long time. I have been a fan of 8bitdo's controllers in the past. However, I have only used their more affordable controllers (wired and wireless). This is absolutely worth the premium price.Firstly, the joysticks. The hall effect joysticks will never suffer from stick drift. This tech has been available since the early 2000s. They feel fantastic, are responsive, and have adjustable deadzones. The face buttons feel good. They are not harshly clicky like some of Razer's offerings. All 4 of my buttons feel consistent to depress. Their finish is smooth and nice. Pretty standard, but well executed. The triggers are analogue rather than digital. This means they output a range of data rather than on/off. This is useful for games that support them (most commonly racing games, but works great for Gamecube titles). They feel good to me. Nothing remarkable, but standard and well built. The D-pad is why I tend to love 8bitdo's controllers. I have been exclusively using their SN-30 for platformers since I picked mine up years ago for this reason. The D-pad on the Ultimate controller is a bit different from those D-pads on the sn-30, BUT the D-pad is still excellent. I've been playing 2D platformers, old school RPGS (FF pixel remasters), and fighting games using the D-pad on the Ultimate controller and it both feels good and is accurate. There are 2 paddles on the back that can be mapped to any other button on the controller. The only change I could possible make to this controller would be the ability to map these paddles without the use of their software. However, it is easy to complete with said software. This can be used to remap other buttons as well, and create up to 3 profiles that can be swapped using the controller at any time.Of course, this can be used both on PC and on the Nintendo Switch. Before picking this up, I only had an official Pro controller. While I do feel the official controller feels more "premium" in the hands, 8bitdo's Ultimate controller is fantastic for use on the Switch as well. While most of my use has been on my PC, I have used it on Switch to play multiplayer games with friends. The wireless performance is great and no complaints there.Battery life is also great. I don't think it lasts me quite as long on average as the official Nintendo Pro controller, but performance is still fantastic.Overall, the best wireless controller I have used in a long time. Pairing is simple, performance is great, battery life is great, and the feel is fantastic.

Time to donate my other controllers
Controllers are subjective, what may be perfect for one may not be for another.Personally, I look for 3 things in a controller:1) Xbox style analog placement and ergonomics2) D-pad quality3) Build qualityI play very little of my switch, I am a PC gamer who emulates old console games. So, I cannot speak for it being a "feature rich" switch controller since if I did play, I wouldn't use the novelties of the switch, but I read this does everything, but Amibos which is fine with me. I also don't play high octane FPS games with a controller (I do play games like Cyberpunk/Dues Ex/Bioshock with one)With that out of the way. I love this controller. The build quality is top notch, it has the same heft as a PS4 controller which is perfect. The buttons feel amazing and nothing about this feels cheap. The analog sticks have the perfect amount of tension for the games I play, it never feels too loose or tight (probably the hall sensors) The charging station looks nice on my shelf and has a nice magnetic "snap" when you put the controller on it. Everything just feels premium.Being an 8bitdo product I of course have to talk about their D-pad. 8bitdo has been knocking it out of the park for years with their D-pad, as with their other products, the D-pad feels identical to the SNES, which to me is the gold standard. This controller is perfect for emulation be it 8bit,16bit or later. It doesn't matter.I use the 2.4ghz adapter and it just works. I plug the small mario brick dongle and it connected, I turn on the controller and within seconds it's connected. The input lag with the 2.4 ghz adapter is excellent, I played Mike Tyson punchout just fine with it. The bluetooth will be nice in the future but for now I am good with 2.4ghz. It will also connect with a USB is you don't believe me (it will also charge via usb if you don't have the hub around.)The only cons for me are the face buttons are for the switch, the wired version isn't. But this is sold as a switch controller. Also, I haven't been able to connect at all to the software, but the default is fine for myself and honestly, I only tried briefly and put no effort into making it work, but I see that as an issue for people who want to adjust dead zones and macros. Neither of these made the actual controller less great in my opinion. As for the D-Input vs X-Input you read about. I personally use the 2.4ghz exclusively. I may run into issues if I want this on an android or raspberry pi. I also don't care about motion controls and I have a Bluetooth adapter if I do eventually care, but I be exclusively using an Xbox controller for PC gaming since 2005 and other 8bitdo controllers for emulation, so I can't miss what I never used. It's more of an annoyance than a problem anyways. As I said controllers are subjective. If you want the ultimate PC/Emulation controller and like me prefer an Xbox layout this is your controller. If you are a switch user or want motion controls on PC than it will still be a great controller with the hall sensors and D-pad, but the lack of full switch features, the software issue and the xinput/dinput issue makes it a 4.0-4.5-star controller. But for someone like me, this is my go-to controller for everything. I even got a wired version for a player two.

Perfect controller for anyone that prefers off-set joysticks. Amazing value!
I've used this for long gaming sessions and have yet to run out of battery fully. Premium-feel and seems built-to-last. I've only had it for ~3 months now but this is the best controller I've ever owned. The dock is well-made, and there's a nice little removable bottom slot that houses the 2.4 GHz adapter; which can be removed from the USB-A slot inside. The dock connects via USB-C and comes with a USB-C to USB-A cord. I have yet to pair it with my Switch, but it paired immediately to an iPad, so it's very convenient to be able to use it with various devices. There is a physical switch on the back of the controller that lets you swap between a 2.4 GHz adapter and Bluetooth very quickly. The 3 different profiles are a nice feature, as well as the Turbo button. Two back pedals work great, however, you have to download PC software to bind them.
