The best PAR sensor you can buy
This a top quality sensor. Not only is it more accurate than any sensor near its price range, it comes with software to easily automate datapoint logging on configurable intervals with no other hardware required. A small USB power bank is all you need to collect days of light intensity data! The sensor is fully potted so it can be used in all weather conditions or even submerged to calibrate aquaria for corals or plants. I suggest purchasing the leveling stand accessory that makes aligning the sensor to the horizon a snap.

Great product, works well. Mount sold separately
Great product! Works well for testing out grow lights for our vertical farm. The app on the computer is simple and easy to use. Love this except for the fact that it doesn't come with any type of case and a mount is separate.

Extremely Effective for Setting Grow Lights
This USB enabled sensor is ideal for those with a laptop to run the sensor. My LED grow light has an adjustable power driver, plus I can vary the light height with a ratchet system. The sensor reads uMol of light and instantly allows me to set the optimum output for the plant. Prior to the sensor, I was simply eyeballing the light's output and guessing. I was lucky I suppose that I didn't burn my plants, but the sensor takes all the guesswork out of setting the light output. It functions well and I'd buy it again based on my satisfaction. Much cheaper (if you have a laptop with USB) than buying the entire meter and sensor together.

It worked for a little bit
#1 why does it say SQ-420 when I connect it to my desktop? Suppose to be SQ-520.#2 After barely using it when I connect the USB plug it connects and disconnects over and over again. Short.This cost to much to be giving problems so soon.

No instructions...none
What the heck? There are no instructions included with this product. That alone gets a '1 Star' in my book. As much as it costs, it should have better...or ANY instructions.

High quality sensor but horrible packaging / presentation.
The $400+ dollar sensor came in a plain brown bubble envelope.You would think that they would include a storage case of some sort for a high precision, relatively expensive sensor.I've bought $40 PH sensors which came with nice hard cases, foam cut to fit, pocket with quick start guide, etc...This thing was just thrown into a bag, no quick-start guide, no manual included.Feel like I've bought a brand new Ferrari only to have it dropped off by "Billy Bob's towing, beer and bait", off of a oil covered tow truck w/out even coming to a complete stop in the driveway.

Works great and cheaper with same functions using your computer
Picked up the 520 after debating the all in one units.Works great, long cord and the software download from Apogee works good.You can even hook the meter up to a power supply (usb) and it will store data points for upload later.
