Fabulous!!
This is my favorite cookbook author! I have followed her career and wonderful recipes every since she was the food editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Although I've never been much of a drinker, maybe a cocktail at Christmas, New Years Day, my birthday, I am definitely going to try some of these exotic drinks. More than just tips and instructions, the wonderful stories than accompany each chapter and the introduction brought back happy memories. Picking wild strawberries and black berries in the rural south for my grandmother to make homemade wine. Remembering the 4 foot tall earthenware crock in the kitchen behind the old cook stove where the homemade beer fermented. My mother going to the local juke joint on Saturday nights called The Rock House located on top of a mountain in the woods. And the most interesting facts about great drinks, cocktails and sipping wine going back generations to our roots in Africa, on through slavery and the jazz era. This is definitely a keeper, to be savored, enjoyed and reread.Kudos Mrs. Tipton-Martin! Bravo! πππππππππ

Gorgeous book!
Beautiful pictures, detailed recipes and historical facts thrive on this wonderful book! I was a barista for many years, but I was never knowledgeable about how to make a good cocktail. I'm definitely trying these recipes and inviting family and friends over for monthly jazz nights!
