Very useful gadget for quick sketches and graphs or tables. Small handy size. Not really ideal when what you really need is a full size drawing board, of course, but a couple of good mechanical pencils, like Pentel's P200 series (the industry standard for many years), decent paper and a nice flat surface, and away you go. Super for work done on site. After a while control of this rolling ruler becomes second nature. Just start with a light easy touch rather than pushing straight down hard to control unwanted movements or slipping. After a little practice you won't want to go back to just using a straightedge or ruler. Nice way to interest a young person in sketching, or basic geometry. Be warned that your roller may develop a tendency at work to grow legs...
