These drums are a little expensive. Before we were using re-cycled olive drums, about 220 lt. These are a little smaller than those, and about twice the price, but have some important advantages. We ship regularly to West Africa, a range of household and technical items,. Security and weatherproofing are very important. The neck of these is wide enough to take goods like PC monitors, and other such bulky items which the olive drums could not. The lid and metal banding are very strong and seal completely. We drill a small hole through the metal band and secure with a padlock, which allows supervised customs inspection but is otherwise secure. They are completely rainproof, even the torrential tropical variety and we have had no damage or pilfering. We have re-ordered several times, and will continue to do so as needed. After use, they can be re-sold locally for a good price as they are very handy for storage. They also make good water containers.

After a few months use the barrel collapsed in on itself and the lid no longer fit. Contacted the seller were completely unwilling to help saying no warranty and only accept returns of new and unused. Do not buy this product it does not last! Poor quality. Poor customer service. Cheap plastic
