This little DMX controller is pretty good. I really enjoy the form factor since it takes up a very small footprint upon my DJ booth helping to eliminate the clutter and congestion with everything I have setup on it. The construction is really good. The buttons and switches are plastic but the overall housing has a very solid and weighty feel that appears to be made from machined aluminum.I hooked this up to my Big Dipper par light via DMX and it performed accurately when set for 3 channel or 7 channel as the controls worked correctly 1-1 when compared with the control functions shown in the par light instructions.Another great feature is that it has a built in rechargeable batter that helps to reduce your cabling footprint as well. The instructions claim you should recharge it every month to month and a half. My educated assumption is that your mileage may vary on this due to how heavily you use it.The only complaint I have with mine is that when it's running you can clearly hear an audible electric hum coming from the box which concerns me a little in regard to the internal wiring quality. It's not extremely loud but it is noticeable. Again I saw no defects in controller performance at this time but that hum is a concern to me.$78.00 seems like a reasonable price for this controller in comparison to others I've looked at. You can find some cheaper with a few more functions or even some more expensive ones with more functions and all will have varying build quality using either plastic or metal. But the build quality of this is fairly good and that rechargeable battery function to reduce cabling footprint is really good. I'd say if you are looking for a compact DMX controller this is worth your consideration and I can recommend it.

While this is marketed for DJs, it also works great for my DMX studio lights, and is a great upgrade for me since I was stuck using a ladder before I got this.

I'm fairly new into using a DMX controller, this is the second one I've bought. I like this because I can just plug and play, just to see what a new light will do. Plus it's small and battery powered for on the go, which is nice of you travel, out just want to show someone what DMX did.
