Very easy to upgrade
Decided to upgrade my three year old computer running XP. It has an athalon 64 chip with 4 meg of ram.Clean install and transfer of data all worked smoothly, well almost, and cannot believe how much better every thing is.Well worth the upgrade. Bought Ultimate version as I thought I might need to run XP at some time but as yet I havent found anything that wont run in windows7 64 bit

Ultimate nonsense
I've been using Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) for many years and never complained about it, it was near perfect. It came installed in my HP Pavilion elite and was working like a charm. Troubles began since I ordered and installed this supposedly higher version of Windows. The install was the messiest install I've ever experienced. Instead of a 'clean install' as I hoped, it left bits and pieces here and there of the old version and rebooting with both options Vista and 7. Thinking I had done something wrong, I re-installed it again, and things got worse, this time rebooting with option Vista, Windows 7 and a second Windows 7.My biggest joy in this whole affair was re-installing Windows vista to factory default and sending that expensive monster back. As for speed and performance, I noticed absolutely no difference between the two versions. Moreover, if like me you prefer Windows Mail instead of Windows live, you can't have it on Windows 7. On Vista you can have either or both. Also, if you prefer simply to drag your favourite icons to the quick launch individually, you cannot do it with Windows 7.Maybe an expert would object to my criticism, but the big majority of computer users aren't experts, and that's the point.

Another product that won't upgrade
I bought this along with Office 07 neither of which have upgraded my system as yet.Windows 7 keeps reporting missing and corrupted files in the software and I am my wits end. I want to link my PC with my laptop and I am unable to do so until I can install W 7, who said life was easy???

Average Product
I was led to believe that Windows 7 will make our lives - Oh so much easier. mmmmmmm my life is being made American. Certainly not easier with this system. Take for example the older version of opening your files. One click and the list is in front of you. Now it is Documents, then My documents. One more stage. Saving a new file is also more complicated. It took me a while to work out how to open an existing folder. This system is good but has a lot of annoying areas that urgently need to be addressed.

Easiest Upgrade/Reinstall yet
I am not a techie but I have done many Windows re-installs and upgrades and this was certainly the simplest. I upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate with a "custom install" and managed to retain almost all my programs and hardware with no problems whatsoever. The exceptions were a Brother laser printer possibly dating from around 2000 for which there does not seem to be a Windows 7 driver and an error message from Norton 360 antivirus prog (one aspect of it only not the whole functionality). I had numerous problems with Vista which seem to have disappeared with the installation of Windows 7 and I am very satisfied with the whole process.

Windows7
Windows 7 - I found it easy to load once I had got through the selection process to find the version that worked for my computer. Wireless network speed is much faster. Screen icons are very intuitive and easy to get used to. A few of my old programs would not work with Windows 7 but they are pretty old. I would recommend Windows 7 as an upgrade from XP.

Ilegal Microsoft windows 7 Ultimate upgrade for Vista Users
The product supplied ran for 18 months without problem until one day I got a message from Microsoft that this software was illegal. When checking it more closely I could see it was counterfeit - there was no certificate of authenticity enclosed which I did not realise at the time. In spite of 2 requests to resolve this matter this supplier has not responded. I would suggest that anyone purchasing such software checks more thoroughly its authenticity. I intend to inform Microsoft as requested by them.

Won't update!
Simply wouldn't update on my Vista 64-bit computer. Couldn't boot in properly. Now, it may be something to do with my set-up, but I can't find anything wrong with various scans and checks!
