Incredible Modern Spider-Man
I’ve read a lot of Spider-Man stories over the years, he’s my all time favorite character and this may be, page for page, the strongest Spider-Man omnibus out there. Starting with the spectacular series Zdarsky did, you get a long form story that covers almost every aspect of the Marvel universe. The character of Teresa is well developed here and makes for an interesting twist on established lore. Life story is an incredible alternate universe where Peter ages in real time that perfectly explores real world events and notable stories from each era it depicts. Lastly, Spider’s Shadow tells a very different tale that while it goes down a dark path, still gives the reader incredible insight to who Peter is as a character. Zdarsky gets Peter like few others and in these books that were less obstructed by editorial decisions, thats made even more evident. This omnibus is a must pick up for any Spider-Man fan!

Spectacular
Zdarsky's writing offers a fresh take on our favorite web-head blending humor, storytelling and character development in spectacular fashion! Zdarsky captures the essence of Peter Parker's struggles as he balances his personal with the responsibilities of Spider-Man. The artwork of Adam Kubert, Mark Bagley and other talented artists complement the narrative beautifully capturing the emotions of the characters, as well as showcasing the action sequences. Personally, I think new readers and old readers will enjoy this modern and engaging interpretation of the classic hero's journey.

Zdarsky, the best modern Spider-Man writer
This is without a doubt the best collection of modern Spider-Man stories collected in one comprehensive beautiful book. Chip Zdarsky understands Spider-Man, and why so many people have considered this character their favorite throughout the years. Zdarsky’s run on Spectacular Spider- Man is a perfect mix of heart, humor, and action; in addition, Zdarsky’s seem really particular in selecting a supporting cast that works well with Spider-Man/Peter Parker’s personality. This book also includes Zdarsky’s limited series, Life’s Story which is a love letter to the character. If you’re a fan of Spider-Man or superheroes in general, you need to read this story; I got teary eyed, and it warmed my heart. If it wasn’t enough, there is another limited series that Zdarsky’s wrote, which is a what if story as to what would have happened if Spider-Man had never got rid of the black costume/Symbiote and basically became Venom himself; It’s so good! A lot has been said about Spider-Man modern comics, and the drop in quality in the main title. But if you need to own a book that takes what makes Spider-Man great, update it to modern times, and move the character forward, this is the book you need. It’s hard for e to understand how Marvel has not put Chip Zdarsky on Amazing Spider-Man and gave him a contract in perpetuity. He is the quintessential Spider-Man writer; up there with Stan Lee and Roger Stern in my view.
