Why no audio book? So good I bought it twice, and will probably buy it a few more times yet
Brilliant bookInformation and concepts need to be sown far and wide.Soil health, biodiversity, and natural mycelium ecology has to be the first step, the foundation on which everything else is built, fascinating stuff. This is essential scienceHow can we help?Sheldrake has proposed a 1% fund. where just one percent of taxpayers spending on science is accountable to the actual tax payers, especially if it reduces tax payers spending on illnessMuch, much, much more work and research needs to be done, on this, and on all the other mental and other health issues that are related to gut health, that are only briefly touched upon hereBut this is the boost that we needed. Massive thank you to the authors, and keep up the good work!!Many of the peole who badly need this information for health issues will benefit more from audio format rather than written text. They will have infernal brainfog making it hard to concentrate and readAMAZON! Please please get the audiobook done! Brilliantly informative
Anyone interested in thoroughly relevant research to understanding the healing potential inherent in each individually diverse healthy functioning micro biomes could do worse than read this book. The 21st century can still attest to the fact a pill for every Ill medical practice falls short in treatment let alone cures for inflammatory disease. (Endometriosis, type 2 diabetes, IBD,Asthma,Obesity, Altzheimers, Parkinson’s, Rheumatoid arthritis )Discovering the cause of an ailment/disease needing treatment requires different investigative measures as opposed to only considering the acknowledged medical treatment of the symptoms. This book offers a good look at the future of cause diagnosis and draws on researched information to do so.

No great surprises in terms of dietary advice, but a clear overview of an interesting field
I enjoyed reading this book which is very clearly written and very persuasive. It gives a clear overview of how our microbiome affects many aspects of our lives.I don't think the dietary advices comes as any surprise - seek variety, fibre, fruit and vegetables, fermented foods plus avoid the things that are bad for us - but the science behind the findings becomes clearer and so too does the explanation of 'why this works'

Fantastic, easy-to-read update on current research on how the gut affect the brain.
I've read a medical book and I never imaging that I'd read one cover-to-cover as a "page-turner." I was diagnosed with depression/anxiety 10yrs ago and IBS soon after so this book was written for me and gave me amazing insights for the first time despite frequent treatments by medical staff including gastropscopies and a colonoscopy. The evidence presented chimes so directly with my experience that it may be transformational. For example, I discovered that one of my medications for gut inflamation, Omeprazole, is shown by recent research to have negative impact for those, like me, with depression/anxiety. I've been taking it for a decade but no more. The book gives evidence on the value of named probiotic brands and, more importantly, how to repair your gut and enhance brain function through healthy eating.I cannot recommend the book highly enough. It is co-authoured by an experienced US health writer and two Irish leaders in research, all globally respected as leaders in their field.

The biggest medical breakthrough since penicillin
This research described in this book will cause a long overdue paradigm shift in medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. It is a well written and up to date synthesis of research on the impact of the trillions of microbes which have coexisted in our gut for millennia, forming an integral part of our digestive and immune systems, and when things go wrong, a raft of physical and psychological conditions from Colitis to major depressive disorders.Fortunately, research is already advanced enough for the authors to give sound advice on precautionary dietary measures to minimise risk and impact of many modern day ailments, mostly arising from junk diets and over use of broad spectrum antibiotics.

Very interesting and informative
This book offers a complete rethink on our personal health and wellbeing requirements. It is very well written and quite easy to read despite the vast amount of information contained within. I have recently read several books relating to this subject of gut health and this one is the best so far.Everyone should be aware of this information, all least the basics of which foods to favour and which to reject in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.Don't give in to the highly commercial food or drugs industries, use the advice in this book to improve your lot!

Cheap quality paper
The content of the book is a subjective like or dislike. The star rating is based on the quality of paper printed on....it's thin. It reminds me of my time spent in India which has a lot of printed material from cheap publishers.I got the paperback.
