Caraselle Pack of 6 Watering Spikes - the best plant watering solution

These work well if you use the correct bottle, I had to use a glass water bottle to fit these spikes as most plastic bottles didn't work. Once I had got the hang of using kitchen paper pushed into the base of the spike to alter the speed of water coming out of the spike this worked great, however it's a good idea to do a trial run before you actually need them. Otherwise you may find that the water runs out too quickly.

They are brilliant as they kept the soil moise if you must kept the bottle fill up but when during the rain they won't work but don't worry about it as the water will kept next a dry day! and I would give them 5 stars but round the edge is rather sharps!

was very undecided about buying these spikes because of the negative reviews, however, as I am going away and need my pot plants watered I thought I would buy them.....am having difficulty in controlling the flow of water...if you don't put kitchen towel around the top of the bottle the water seeps away instantly.....if you put kitchen towel around the top of the bottle it still drips too quickly...I want this water to last about a week. not ten minutes!!!!....don't think I will ever be able to find a happy medium....what a pity as the spikes are sturdy to hold in the ground with full bottle attached

Not great, the water flooded out immediately instead of providing a steady flow, even when the tips were packed with kitchen paper. There are better spikes out there and it's worth spending more on better quality.

I've had these before and they're great for watering plants without trying to get underneath them. They have adapters so fit most bottle tops. Great idea. Would recommend.

You do wonder if these gadgets are going to work, but it’s not rocket science to get water to the roots of plants and this is a simple solution. Attached to a squash bottle, with the bottom cut off, so that you can easily refill the bottle without pulling the spike out, gets water to where it matters. One small hitch, if the water is not going down, it’s usually because the holes in the spike are clogged. Clean the spike and clear the holes, attach it to the bottle and re insert into the earth close to the plant.

Cheap, adaptable, and they work (for me). I have not tried to regulate them to cover a long absence, so might not use them in preference to the capillary matting (which I have used satisfactorily in the past)
