When I saw this item for the first time, I didn't think much of it aesthetically. After seeing the seller's demonstration video on YouTube however, my mind totally changed and I became a convert immediately. So much so, I bought three of them. That's one in use with two spare. But, when I opened them and checked that things were in order, all three had been lovingly set up with pre-installed batteries, good-to-go and ticking away as if there wasn't a care in the world. However, I had to mess and press the Reset button. I mean, just in case. You know, like that, "Don't think of a big red London bus," type of thing. But, three, "Don't think about it," Reset buttons instead of one. Oh, the thrill of anxiously waiting for a time signal to correct everything again after having bad thoughts, was purely ecstatic. Once all of my three gorgeous girls had calibrated to the best, most accurate, perfectest setting ever… I neatly packed two of them away standing upright and so proud in their little boxes, inside the box that all three arrived in (That I temporality call "The Clock Box," for obvious reasons) then placed the other one in the front room. But, alas, something in there acts like a Faraday Cage and blocks the UK time signal. As soon as I took the timepiece into the kitchen though, where the others temporarily reside (In The Clock Box), the excitement mounted and tension rose before a crescendo of relief as I got a signal once again. As a talking clock though, it does have a good voice on it I think. Well, I certainly think so after watching the seller's YouTube demo' video. This clock does not have an hourly chime, but when you have a clockwork Grandfather Clock clanging and banging every half-hour with a constant tick-tock throughout the waking hours, One tends to learn to ignore it all and hear nothing. Although, about ten years ago when I had a Cuckoo clock out for repair, that was striking every 5 minutes in it's absence. Which begs the question, can one have too much of a good thing?

Excellent Vocal Clarity
This is an excellent clock. The clock face is easy to read, the timekeeping is very accurate and the speaking voices both male and female are clear. My only gripe is that it is not possible to set different sound levels for the voices and the alarms. Ideally, I would prefer to have quiet speaking voices and loud alarms.

Brilliant Talking Clock
Bought for my elderly aunt who suffers with limited vision – she loves this clock – She finds the button on top easy to press that gives time / date / when it last updated – the clock face is large enough so she can even read the numbers – it even speaks when setting the alarm so she knows what time she has set to – it was easy to activate / set up but would need to be done by a full sighted person who could show/instruct the user – she would definitely recommend

A Good Buy.
This clock is accurate, fairly easy to operate and quite heavy, which helps to prevent my mum from knocking it off her bedside table in the night. The voice could be sharper, though I appreciate that it is a recording and therefore will distort when played back at a louder volume.Overall this was a very good buy and my mum loves it!

OK but
Supposed to be able to switch voice, couldn't figure it out, apart from that easy to set up, no problems so far.

Heavy on batteries
This is an excellent clock for a bedside table, where one can easily find it and press the button for an audible time message. However, it is very heavy on batteries, flattening a pair of new manganese alkaline C cells in less than six months. I have tried rechargeable cells as well, and although the clock displays the time with these, it gives the low battery signal (two-second ticks) even with freshly charged cells, and the audible output doesn't work at all. On the plus side, the radio-control feature works well, and the clock is perfectly accurate.

Outstanding Clock
Excellent clock, aimed very much at the partially sighted but so easy to read for the fully sighted. Can be operated successfully just by sound, for time AND date. Well engineered and well thought through. Great value for money. Can't praise highly enough.

Dead on Arrival.
Ordered the silver model. Arrived the next day. On opening the product my first impression was that it’s not worth the high price tag. Very cheap and flimsy looking and made entirely of plastic. Did not at all feel good to the touch and a couple of the buttons even rattled with slightest bit of movement.Giving it the benefit of the doubt I proceeded to insert two brand new fully charged batteries. One went in very easily and the other just refused to go in. After a lot of fiddling around I eventually managed to insert the second battery. The loose one then caused problems as it kept springing out of position.I looked at the clock face and waited for it to start setting. It was a very long wait indeed, because absolutely nothing happened. Even after pressing every single button one by one, I got no response. Eventually I gave up and went through the returns process. Then I ordered the same clock but in black this time, in case the silver one came from a faulty batch. The second clock gave me all the same problems. From first impression to inserting batteries to discovering that it it was also dead on arrival.I must be extremely unlucky, or this product is a very poorly designed piece of junk. I would suggest the latter.Do Not Buy!
