It's a mystery why my old laptop battery could only last about 2 minutes before shutting my laptop off. According to a component check from HP software, that battery was fine. No, it wasn't, not if it could only hold a charge for two minutes. I barely used it, preferring to keep my laptop plugged in. My computer is 5 years old, so I'm guessing the battery is also just as old, maybe even older.This new battery went in very easily. When I booted up my laptop, the BIOS came on and I had to reboot. I guess that's how it's supposed to work? Anyway, I didn't realize till hours later that the BIOS had been reset because Virtualization was turned off. The battery works fine, holds a charge well. I haven't done a full test yet. The longest I've ran the computer with the battery alone so far is about 30 minutes. I'll try a longer test some other time.

I had to replace my battery because it would die pretty quickly. I hoped that a new battery would extend my computer time significantly but sadly, it does not last very long either.I think it’s just the model of the computerNot any fault of the battery itselfBut I’m no computer tech. This is just my opinion.

This battery was very easy to install, it came with tools that made it easy to open the computer's back cover. I'm glad I purchased it, I didn't have to pay a computer store to change it out.

I thought I would save some money and not get a Dell replacement battery. After all, it's just a battery! I regret it! The battery fits but is a little too big so it does not allow the track pad to work since there is no room under the track pad so you can press down. I thought, maybe I ordered the wrong battery. I did not. It is the correct one. Their quality control is non-existent. They thought it it is 1/16th of an inch too big it will not matter but it makes a huge difference! DONT BUY THIS BATTERY!

At first, I thought this battery wasn't working how it was supposed to. Then I re-read the instructions and it said to unplug the battery and wait, and try again. Since then it's worked fine, and has added hours of life to my laptop's battery that was down to 10-15 minutes max previously.

I purchased 2 of these batteries for 2 HP laptops. Installation was simple and they functioned very well at first. I followed the instructions for charging prior to use and we charged them fully every time then unplugged them to maintain their lifespan. Unfortunately, both batteries only lasted about 6 months before no longer being able to hold a charge. We now have to keep laptops plugged in to use them. The original batteries lasted years so I expected at least a few years from these as well.

I purchased the battery to replace the aging battery in my Dell XPS laptop. I do not think my laptop has a very good charge controller as this is the third battery I'm not.It comes packaged in a plastic clamshell the is designed hold this battery. Also included in the package are some tools that allow you to remove the external screw and some internal ones as well. The included (attached to the battery) power plug is identical to what was on the OEM battery.It would be nice if the included package also included a specific shim that preserves the functionality of the battery. However, since the person probably replacing the battery would have some DIY experience, most can probably handle making the shim.Removal of the original battery is as simple as removing the screw and disconnecting the OEM battery connector. This battery fits and lines up with the OEM and the battery connector snaps into place. As others have noted, this battery is about 1-2mm "thicker" in the Z-axis. I did a "test fit" and noted that the battery did restrict the z-axis movement ("clicking") of the trackpad. To solve this problem I used a small shim (not included) that was adhesive foam insulation. It seemed to ensure the segment of the battery that is over the touchpad does not impede the action of the trackpad.Fortunately, the laptop bottom seems to have a little clearance. I was able to reassembly everything with the shims in place without feeling that it was putting undue stress on the battery.
