Excellent piece of kit!
It is a lot of kit for the money. Currently have it connected to my caravan battery. It appears to be keeping it fully charged. I have removed it from my caravan and have it set up in my conservatory, which is exactly the reason I bought it for. Will use it to keep battery topped up between trips. It arrived promptly, well packaged with comprehensive and clear instructions.

Sound piece of kit.
Bought this to maintain a battery on a car on a SORN. First, I connected it to a spare battery in the garage and placed the solar panel in a South -facing window. In only a few days, the battery was fully-charged, in spite of it being November, short days with little sun.I like the control unit as it does handle it's duties well, and the 'load' facility is a bonus. I connected a 12v LED lamp to test it out, and this could be a useful feature in the event of a power failure, etc.Pleased I bought this one; if nothing else, it's eco-friendly, free battery charging!

Good Value Reliable PV
This is the third one of these I have bought. They produce the claimed 5 watts for a few months then they tail off staying at about 2 or 3 watts for as long as I have had them. The lights on the voltage regulators give up after about 3 months but exraordinarily they continue to regulate voltage and I have never had a boiled battery. They are good value for money.I have never had to send one back so I am unable to comment on after sales service.Water proofing is not good for the regulators so they need to be protected. The PV panels live outside under a translucent tarp and do not deteriorate in our highly humid ocean-side atmosphere but I have never fully exposed them to wind and rain.

Excellent Quality
Really good solar panel.

Cheap frame and low power.
Disappointed with the quality. The frame is like a cheap picture frame with no mounting points (others have suction cups). The power is low and did not charge when used inside car, tried windows and sun roof. Did charge when left outside but not what I wanted.

Battery drain from the charge controller too high for winter time
I was quite excited when I received this kit, everything was well made and the manual was well written. After attaching to my car battery I noticed two of the led's were very bright. I measured the quiescent current (the energy the controller uses just by being plugged in) 6 milliamps. So over a 24 hour period that is 144 milliamp hours. On a wintry day, even when the panels are south facing, the panels can produce less than this, so overall the kit is a net drain on my car battery.I suspected this is entirely due to the unnecessarily bright led for the load and pv on the controllers. If the controller had been made with lower output leds this problem would not occur and the drain would be much less.I just ended up plugging the solar panel directly into the battery and throwing the charge controller away, because its a flooded lead acid battery I don't have to worry about overcharging in the summer months so long as I remember to top up the battery water once or twice a year ( It's a good thing to anyway). So overall a frustrating experience, everything feels well made, just let down by a bad design with the superbright leds on the controller :(

An effective battery charger
Used for keeping my caravan battery topped up without connection to mains power. Simple to install, indicates by red lights the state of charge of the battery and works even on the dullest days. Plenty of cable between the solar panel and the controller and the battery clips.

Complete waste of time
Had high hopes for this, sadly turned out to be completely useless. As someone else noted, in the winter the low output cannot even maintain the battery, so effectively a 6 month summer device. Queried this with the seller to be told the 22mA output I'm getting is to be expected and states the rating of 280 mA is measured at noon at the equator. Does the product description tell you this???
