Karcher has excellent customer service! Great machine.
Loved this FC-7 mop, used it once then put away for three months. Got it back out and the battery would not charge at all. The amazon return window had closed, so I went straight to Karcher and requested a new battery pack, but Karcher customer service validated the warranty and immediately sent me an entirely new mop. Can't say enough about their prompt and friendly service. The mop is great. I graduated to this model from an older Hoover wet vac that died, and there are some important differences.-- The Hoover took a long time to clean after use and was bulkier, with some parts much harder to access like the fixed water vents on the front of the head. The Karcher also takes time to clean after use, one can't avoid that with any wet vac mop, but so far I've found it a quicker job. Being able to throw the rollers in the washer is wonderful and makes the cleaning feel more hygienic every time.-- The FC7 is also much quieter because it's a physical rolling suction not an engine suction, so no high-pitched vacuum whine. FC7 water tray fills up faster, but it's easier to dump than the bucket on the Hoover.-- The FC7 does a fine job with pickup, not quite as good as the Hoover but perfectly adequate since I always vacuum or sweep any big crumbs etc beforehand.-- Works nicely on many surfaces: my Marmoleum kitchen floor, porcelain hex tile bath floor, and my 100-year-old wooden floors.I can't honestly say that any of these machines is a vast improvement over just getting out the wet hand mop and bucket, but if you're someone who like me needs a nudge to clean the floors at all, it's been a lifesaver. Thanks Karcher!

Game changer
After looking at a variety of power mops, we chose the Karcher FC 7. Now we wish we had bought one long ago! The roller action works exactly as described; the unit is effortless to move on the floor. In fact, you can mop with one hand and enjoy a tasty beverage at the same time! Another important attribute is the dirty water collection tank. It's actually more of a tray than a tank, but it effectively squeegees the rollers and collects hair, crumbs and other surface debris in the dirty water. And of course, removing the dirty water from the floor is one of the most important features. Not only does it provide a cleaner floor, the floor dries in about two minutes. A completely different world than a sponge mop or disposable pad mop! We have been amazed at how our floor looks and feels, and it finally passes the barefoot test! While running the machine, the dirty water tray needs emptying periodically. A tap of the foot and the tray drops to the floor. We simply carry it outside and it doesn't spill if held relatively flat. Again...it's a tray rather than a tank. After mopping, cleaning the machine isn't fun; but Karcher makes it about as easy as possible. There's a clean cycle on the unit, but I have found it better to remove the rollers and hand wash them. A quick spray with the water hose takes care of the dirty water tray and hair catchers.. Every third use or so, I clean around the roller mounts. Overall, it's about like cleaning a robotic vacuum. I'm guessing it takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on how dirty the rollers are.Overall, it's terrific machine...a game changer in our house. I was surprised that my sneakers squeaked on the floor after the first use, and after several uses, our kitchen floor was almost like new. I'm not generally too excited about cleaning tools and supplies, but the FC 7 is the real deal! Like all good tools, it doesn't take long to realize why it costs more than the others. It really works!

*UPDATED* DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!
Update and review of replacement unit:Manufacturer reached out and offered path to replace, which mine qualified for being under 12 months since purchase. New unit was shipped once approval of application was confirmed. New unit has been flawless.Lesson learned after reading on unit: Do NOT leave this plugged in once battery is charged. Electrical failure may have been due to leaving unit plugged in when not in use to keep ready to go. Now I just charge a few hours before use/day before, then unplug. Battery length is long, so easy to complete projects without concern. I can mop my entire house twice on one charge!Original review from first unit:Died in less than 6 months, suddenly won’t take a charge/turn on. Zero damage, tried 4 different live outlets. Not too sure
Well, it worked great for awhile. It does move easily around the floor. However, I’ve only had it for less than months, and it’s not charging. Faulty charger maybe?? I don’t know, but it’s not charging, so now I have to figure out who can service it. Be careful spending this much money when you’re not sure about repair support.
