One of my favorite fountain pens.
I own a dozen or so fountains and. I was reading some of the bad reviews. I am honestly not sure if I got lucky or perhaps a few are just not accostomed to continuous use of a fountain pen.I've had mine for several months now. And to date even after leaving it for 2 to 3 weeks without use but stored properly it writes from the first stroke everytime. The nib is smooth no scratchy strokes at all. Flow is very good, even and dependable. For the price it's an great fountain pen and I'm happy I decided to add it to my collection.

Heavier than the Parker Jotter
I was surprised by how much heavier this pen was than the Parker Jotter I recently lost. Compared to the medium nib on the Jotter, I really like the fine nib on this pen. It writes nicely. I would definitely get this one again.

Good Starter Pen
This is a good starter fountain pen for someone on your gift list or maybe yourself. Most people would choose either a Lamy Safari or a Pilot Metropolitan as the best starter pens. I think this one should be added to that list. I got the 'fine' nib based on previous experience with other fountain pens. We generally use cheaper paper in the US and wider nibs sometimes put too much ink on the paper. As a result, smearing can be a problem. So for me, I think the fine nib is best. If you have a larger handwriting, you might consider a wider nib. If you've never tried a fountain pen, you should try one. Get one like this or a cheaper one and see if you like it. I know people don't write as much on paper as they used to, but it's still a joy to receive a handwritten letter. This pen writes good for a relatively inexpensive fountain pen. The fine nib writes smoothly if faced correctly to the writing surface. As with most fountain pens, no pressure is required to write. The pen writes under its own weight. The body of the pen appears to be metal, with a generous resin area (about 2 cm) above the nib for your fingers. The cap is nicely appointed with metal band for decoration. The clip is strong and should survive many uses. The pen weighs 28 grams (little less than 1 ounce) when posted and feels well-balanced when writing. The cap snaps in place and does prevent the nib from drying between writing sessions. I did buy the Parker Pen Ink Converter so I can use bottled ink, rather than cartridges. The ink feed is good but ink flow may be a bit too generous immediately after filling. This may cause writing to appear darker after filling than before. Flow stabilizes after several sentences. All in all, this is a good pen for the price. It should provide many years of service. I recommend it.
