Q: in a mixed pack of 50 canes ranging from 3ft to 8 ft, how many are 8 ft long? Trying to decide what I need. Spec does not say how many of each.

I bought the 8ft pack, and they were all 8 foot (2.4m). I just cut a few down, as necessary, with a small hack saw. Best value for money.

Assuming that you are asking about the number, it is theoretically 4.0m divided by the thickness of the cane . However the canes generally tapper and a nominal diameter of 15 mm will taper to perhaps 10 mm ,over a length of 1.2mm.. therefore you may need to find canes that are of more uniform diameter , over a length of 1.2mm.

Q: what is the best option to go for id I want a rough inside diameter of 7mm ?(its for bees)

I bought the biggest diameter and 7ft length so was surprised to receive the tapering canes that I did. The diameter referred to only one end of most of them, the greatest part of the length was a lot less, consequently they were not as sturdy as I'd hoped. So, if you want them for bees don't buy the long canes with a plan to cutting them down cos you won't get many offcuts with big enough diameter. Buy the shortest length and the biggest diameter you can. It won't give you more of the right diameter, per bundle, but it will mean you waste less. Mind you, the thinner bore parts could maybe used to make a bug house too
