Works Great for Screen Mirroring
This adapter worked perfectly to connect my laptop to an external monitor. I just plugged the USB into my computer, connected the HDMI cable to the monitor, and it worked right away. The picture is clear with no lag. Great for dual-screen work or watching movies on a bigger display. Very handy and easy to use!

Potential for Viruses
I returned this the same day, it didn’t work and as another mentioned here in the reviews. This dongle should be plug and play, but if you examine it on Mac, it shows up as a storage device, looking further it had 3 files 1-2 of them were “exe” files, which dongles are not supposed to be detected as storage devices, so beware, I didn’t explore more to find out what they did. No dongle should be preloaded with software to install, usually you would have to download from the manufacturer’s website if anything, but dongles? No.Whole product is a waste of time and money. Spend a little more and get a better quality one.

Works great as a screen duplicator. Beware / Ask for screen extending.
KUPOISHE USB to HDMI Adapter for Monitor Windows 11 / 10 / 8, HDMI USB Converter for LapI am giving it 4 stars because what do you really expect for 10 bucks?I have tried it on 3 computers (Windows 10, Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 starter)The only thing I can not get to work is the screen extend. It just duplicates the screen for me.I just wanted this to duplicate my workplace screen, and it works great for that.It may work on some computers, not on mine though. I have stock video built into the motherboards, so that may be the cause.1920×1200 is the highest resolution I have tried it on.I did come across something weird, the resolution would only go to 1280×720 when I had it set to duplicate, I set it to extend screen, and it allowed me to use 1920×1200, although the screen was duplicated not extended. When playing a movie, the duplicate screen lags about a 1/10th of a second, not bad but noticeable. Also, most movies play like the frame rate is cut in half or something. It is very watchable but again noticeable. If were you, the screens side by side playing a movie and expected them to match perfectly, you would be very disappointed. But again, I did not really buy it for multimedia. ALSO.. the plug does support audio, it took the audio from my laptop and played it on the duplicate screen. I did not try to play audio on both devices.*The HDMI cable sets an icon in my computer called “CD Drive”, this contains the drivers and display program.... After rebooting, I have to click “CD Drive” in My Computer before the duplicate will display. If it is your first time plugging in the HDMI cable, you will have to install drivers first, and then set your preferences in the program as well as in “Display Settings” in Windows.*Summery, If you are looking for a reliable screen extender, I would spend a few more dollars and check the reviews first. For a screen duplicator it is perfect , this is a great cheap option, I am happy with it for what I wanted it for.*ALSO I have not tried it on any HDMI splitters, extenders, switchers. (3rd party hardware)

Do NOT buy this thing! Infected with Trojans!!!
This thing rendered my personal laptop inoperable. It made my screen flash and I couldn’t use the laptop, so I reinstalled Windows on it and it was fine for about two weeks. The screen started flashing again and this time I couldn’t reinstall Windows because it would not download past 64%. I thought the laptop had just run its course and borrowed a friend’s laptop. I used the adapter a few times and everything seemed fine.I used the adapter today to work from home on my company issued laptop and as soon as I opened the drive for the adapter, messages started popping up saying malicious software was detected and the program was terminated. After a couple of hours, I could no longer connect to the internet, despite having a strong connection. Then cybersecurity pings me on Teams and tells me my laptop has been disconnected from the network due to Trojan like behaviors running in the background and my laptop needed to be brought into the office to be reimaged. Once there, I was told the adapter should be plug and play without the need to install software and the fact that this one is not, is suspicious. It’s too late for me to return it, so I’m destroying it before putting it in the trash.

It works but... Eh
So it actually is made of a pretty sturdy metal material. I love that black color too. You should know that the cable on it is very short, like very short. I needed this to connect my laptop (which only has one HDMI port and no other video outputs, including via USB or usb-c) to my second monitor since the HDMI port was already in use. If you're going to buy this just know that you will not have a smooth experience. It's good for if you need like just note taking or something very light on a secondary display. This would not be ideal for watching videos, gaming, etc as it has a good bit of lag to it. It's pretty easy to use though, just plug it in and install the software. You have to keep the software running the whole time to use the device, which isn't that big of a deal but I believe that means the lag can somewhat depend on your device power. It does connect easily though which is nice. One more thing I would add is that it should be plugged into a USB port by itself rather than in a USB hub. It seems very data intensive as I had it plugged into my USB hub that has my keyboard and mouse and the keyboard would barely work while the software was running. But when I plugged the device into its own port on the laptop the keyboard works fine. Honestly it should really deserve like 2 stars but you know for the price it's not horrible and for my use case, I already expected it to be bad like this and bought it anyways because I knew it would work for me.
