No, not until you open the can. I prefer to bake them with the top scored with cloves inserted in to each square. Bake for 30 minutes at 378degrees.

Q: Why is this so high when I can get anywhere else for 4 dollars?

Get some where else. Was not impressed with the cost or the quality. Needed it at the last minute for part of Thanksgiving dinner two years ago.
