Was pretty hard to choose between the different offerings on Amazon but settled on this one as it seemed the right level price, delivery time and what I needed it for.I'm not disappointed - cuts XPS really easy with the wire cutter...just take your time - do not force it and is large enough to make easy cuts.Heats up quick and comfortable enough for the few minutes I'm using it.Even though the on/off switch is on the cable - it's ok and perhaps not having anything on the handle makes it easier while cutting.The engraving tips are good and hear up quick and for making lines/shapes into XPS worked nicelyThe only negative -> very difficult to pull out the engraving tips - they are very tight - resorted to use a pliers (with a light grip on the item as not to crack the plastic) to provide the leverage....I would buy again if after a year this broke.

For the price you're paying this a fantastic little cutter. Heats up quickly, nice construction and well insulated, switch on the cable for easy on/off and comes with an longer carving attachment and an engraving point.I have seen a few reviews complaining of it breaking but for me, I have found patience is key - let it heat up, go slow through foam and gently clean excess foam off the wire with a cloth every now and then - don't expect to push this hard through foam as for the price that's not the product you're getting! Regardless using carefully I've cut through hundreds of pieces of polystyrene with this and it's still going strong. Probably one of the best at this price point.

The switch broke after a week or so, but still works when the switch was removed. Has an array of different cutting heads and is perfect for light foams, not the dense types as these take ages.

Occasional user. Well made, heats up quickly and does the job. Not needed the spare wire yet but useful to have it. Blister packed.

Handy little cutter to have around for those smaller jobs, it glides through foam, like a hot knife through butter. excellent

Sat for an hour waiting to see if the hot wire cutter would EVER heat up. It didn't and I had foolishly held of on using it till I had collected all the stuff I needed to cut and so was outside of refund period... REALLY annoyed as now have a big pile of foam to cut and no tool to do so.
