Nice heavy duty economical hoist!
The media could not be loaded. This hoist is impressive. Wasn't expecting it to be so heavy and solid for the economical price. I was trying to find a good solution to lift and mount my heavy roof top hard tent when not in use. Came up with this solution as shown in the video. Works great and I'm able to get it up and down by myself.

Prefer the wired version
The media could not be loaded. Winch works great. I found that I prefer the version with the cord for two reasons: in the remote control version, it takes AA batteries and they are behind a compartment with multiple screws on the remote control. In a hot garage I would worry about the batteries leaking. Also, if the remote gets lost or damaged then you have no way of operating the winch. While this version is less convenient with the cord, I just added a hook on the remote control to hang it up. Make sure to use a heavy duty steel square tube to hang the winch on. I used 1-¼” square stock with an ⅛ “ wall thickness. I would not recommend using a pipe because when you turn the winch on and off, there is quite a bit of torque so that would cause the unit to swing unnecessarily.

low cost lifting
My main take away from this hoist is that its cheap. At under the $200 mark, it comes as no surprise that the construction is questionable. The duty cycle alone will tell you all you need to know. Pros: I was able to lift a 450 lb equipment rack by myself. Wireless remote works, installation was easy. Cons: yeah, it is very cheaply built, I would not stand anywhere near it when lifting something (which makes the 300 foot range of the wireless remote particularly attractive). The snatch hook (which must be used to get the advertised maximum lift capacity) is garbage. I replaced it with a real one before lifting anything. Can't really complain about the instructions being poor as there were none to speak of, but my biggest concern is there is no cable guide for the drum. Just a couple runs up and down will bunch the cable to one side of the drum and will eventually get kinked from binding if you are not careful. All in all, if you can't shell out 2k for a real chain hoist, and you only need something to do occasional lifting, this will work fine (as long as it shows up in once piece from extremely poor packaging) My model was rated at 1320lbs but I would not dare more than 800lbs.

good lifting ability and inexpensive if you need to lift up to 450 lbs or so
i used this winch to pull a replacement hot water heater into my attic and attached it between two roof supports. It is noisy to me, but the benefits more than make up for it. The control cable is long enough for you to be at least 8 feet from whatever you are lifting. you can use single line for around 220lbs or double for around 440 lbs. It comes with two auxiliary straps which proved handy. Good value and seems well built.

Lifted my sailing dinghy easily
Great, easy to install but use ceiling joists wherever possible.Don't expect variable speed lifting on motor. It's up or down!!

great price
I use this to lift engine blocks into my resurfacer in my automotive machine shop. It works flawless and lifts with ease. No more struggle with engine hoist that is too bulky and always in the way. Great buy and easy to install and use. No more back aches for me. I recommend this hoist.

This works great.
I mounted this on deep strut with the trolley wheels so I can move across my shop.I put a small aircraft cable to hold the pendant and keep it from getting pulled out when moving it form one side to the other.
