Hooked it up in 60 seconds.
Simple and works like it's supposed to. Used it to power a 3A 12V diaphragm pump, hooked up to a 3A 12V wall adapter for LED's. Powered on, pumped water great, the speed control worked flawlessly.I wish it came with the wiring diagram in the box but... I mean, the picture on the Amazon page is easy enough to follow.

I saved myself $70 with this replacement.
The fan in my Dickenson Diesel Heater needed replacing as the stem of the control knob had snapped off. Replacement OEM was over eighty bucks with shipping and this little device was less than nine. The original had only three speeds whereas this is infinitely variable from, zero to full power. The zero point clicks completely off.The original was more strongly constructed with a metal body, whereas this is made mostly of plastic with a metal stem; however, the device doesn't really come under much stress, so it's not a major consideration. Of course the upside is that I have far greater control of the fan so I can dial it in perfectly. The lower power settings can be employed as a damper in those situations when the wind isn't co-operating and there is the occasional downdraft. A three-speed fan is next to useless in this situation. The wiring was a breeze thanks to a very detailed account by one of the reviewers, Ryan Shumaker. Thanks Ryan! The operation of the controller feels silky smooth without any play whatsoever, which surprised me given its price.Only time will tell if this was a wise purchase but at ten percent of the replacement cost of the original and given its superior performance, I think it's only a tiny gamble.

Did not work.
Wanted to install this in place of a 3 speed switch assy. but would not regulate positive output voltage to blower motor.

Great 12v speed control
Knocked a star off for not having any wiring diagram or any wire designation on it. If you look at their specs, then you find out that the RED is +, and shared with the load... the BLK wire is hooked up to -12v, and the BLU hooked up to the load -. If you have a 12v grounded load [like in an older vehicle], you may have problems trying to use this particular unit, since it's a sinking unit, not at source unit. Otherwise, it works well, and has smooth control, and a solid OFF click. Since it's a pulse-width control, the amps on the load will be lower than on a voltage control type. I'm using it on a car 80W radiator fan for a fireplace insert, and testing it on an variable power supply, at the speed I would use @~8V on the adjustable supply, it was pulling about 5A. At about the same fan speed with this PWM unit, the amp load dropped to about 3A, and the heat sink didn't even get warm. It does what it's supposed to, and at a good price.
