It has always been difficult to find gifts for my dad. He is an experienced craftsman and woodworker. He loves the mancrate. Everything needed is in the box. Perfect gift.

This is my second knife kit. I previously assembled a folding knife kit from a woodworking store and wanted to try a drop point knife. This seemed like a good path forward and it is.The kit is complete. Nothing else is needed to make a knife. Contrast that with most other kits where scales, adhesives, sheaths, and tools are separate and the cost of this kit becomes more reasonable. The instructions are basic but clear and easy to follow. The tools are more than adequate and not just single use. I have similar tools already but vise in particular will be useful for me. I also prefer to use a multi-tool for rough cutting and shaping.The included sheath is OK, but the knife was packed in it and cut the threads during shipping so it opened up. I will probably make my own sheath. The blade could also use sharpening. The knife is also predetermined although substitute scales could be used. These are just minor points and the overall package is excellent and would make an impressive gift.

I got this to make a knife for my dads birthday. I have never done this before and it was a very easy kit to use and work through. My only note would be that the wooden blocks I got were not the same type of wood which would have been preferable. I ended up having to stain the wood to make it match a little better, otherwise I would highly recommend this kit!

I bought this amazing kit for my husband. It is a cool, unusual gift! My teenager son very interested in putting together this knife as well.. The kit has everything you need. It includes all the tools with clear instructions. The materials are made of excellent quality. My husband was impressed how detailed was put into the items that were included in the kit. Definitely perfect item for any purpose!!

Parts are missing a pin and a drill bit. This is expensive we should not have to go out and buy this from a store

Based on nothing specific, I expected this kit to allow me to have more say over the shape/angle of the blade. However, it does not. This kit has a blade that is already formed and all you have to do is put the handle on, shape it, and done! I gave this to a 17-year-old kid and he took about a day to build his knife. He had fun working on the handle and getting it just the way he wanted. So, I will say, this is a great kit for a beginner and it comes with everything needed!
