Relief at last for a previously broken foot!!!
I broke my foot two years ago (5th metatarsal fracture) and it still pains me to this day. I most likely needed surgery, but I had a terrible ortho doc who told me, "If you were a high performance athlete, I would put a screw in it. But you'll be okay". I was stupid not to get a second opinion, especially since I was a runner. I have not been able to run since the injury - the pain it causes me is too great. This was heartbreaking, but I ended up practicing yoga instead. As I became stronger, my foot, for some reason, became quite irritated. Standing postures on my left foot became harder and harder to do because it was so painful. I knew I had to do something, but I was too scared to see another doc. I researched foot supports and found this little nugget on Amazon. It is amazing! Who would have thought a little band could bring so much relief! I would only take half a star off, if I could, because it does tend to slip down during my yoga practice and if I am wearing it with sandals. But honestly, it's still worth taking 5 seconds to stop and adjust it. I feel like I can't live without this band now, it feels so wonderful! I still have yet to see another doc, but I am glad this is helping support and soothe my poor foot before I get that second opinion. FYI, I wear a size 7.5 in women's and it fits like a tight little glove. It may feel a little too tight at first, but it stretches out just a little bit. It is washable too, so it won't get overly stretched out if you throw it in the dryer.

Best and Cheapest medical device ever
I got the large size since my big toe is leaning over to the left pretty noticeably. It was making it uncomfortable to walk since a lot of pressure was on the bunion joint, which was making it get bigger. I thought the bunion problem was just my shoes being too tight, but actually, it was compounded by walking on a crooked toe that was really the problem. These gel toe separators are comfortable and customizable. Each one is too thin, however, which means for them to separate far enough, I had to glue two of them together. Also, it became painful to walk on the flanged ends- the parts that swoop out and lie right under the toe. So I cut off the flanging parts. Now, walking has never been so comfortable- I can feel the big toe carrying weight like it hasn't in a long time. I haven't really taken them off since I got them a few days ago. I'm confident that these separators will stop my bunion growth and strengthen my gate.Just remember, bunions happen for many reasons, not just too-tight shoes. These separators were one of several changes I made such as cutting into my shoe for extra toe freedom, making sure my shoes were well secured at the heel so my toes weren't carrying the weight of the shoe, and positioning and modifying the toe separators to the optimum size and position so my big toe is carrying the weight of my step.

they work for me
I didn't think these would help me, but to my surprise, i like them a lot. Most shoes don't have sufficient arch support for me, and although i have tried numerous arch pads, most are not shaped right for my feet. That's why i tried these bandages, and I have found they make my shoes a lot more comfortable and decrease my knee pain. I don't wear them with sandals or pumps because they are very noticeable. I have worn them only with shoes that cover them completely, like my cross trainers and other closed shoes i wear with socks in the winter. They don't come with instructions, and i almost gave up on them because they were so uncomfortable at first, but i did learn a few things through trial and error:1. They are extremely tight at first. My feet are narrow, AA to AAA width, but i found these bandages to be so tight it felt like my feet were cramping. I kept thinking, how could people with normal width feet wear these? then I found that that where i placed the seam made a big difference in how tight they felt on my feet. I also found that they do relax a bit after wearing them a few times.2. The aforementioned seam - each bandage has a seam, and one side of it is covered to make it smooth. At first i didn't pay attention to where i put that seam, and it really hurt when i put it in the wrong place and/or wore it inside out! Also, the bandage felt tighter when the seam was at the top of my foot. I found the most comfortable place for the seam is against the arch of each foot, wearing the covered side of the seam on the inside, directly against my foot.3. I also found that i can't wear them over socks; must wear them under socks.4. They wash nicely. i wash them in the handwash cycle of my washing machine in one of those zippered laundry bags for delicates, in cold water, and let them air dry. They didn't draw up after washing in this manner.5. They have not made my feet too warm or sweat more than normal. However, I have only worn them in the winter. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.
