LOCTITE1158514 Head Bolt and Water Jacket Sealant, 50-milliliter Tube

I bought this to prevent a water pump bolt going into the water jacket from leaking. So far no leaks!

Great product works exceptionally well.Yes the tube is half full. If you read the description you'll see it sets up in the absence of air. So if they were to ship a full tube you would receive a full tube of hard useless junk.It seems as if the good people at permatex actually know what they're doing

The headbolts on a 1950 Ford 8BA engine protrude into the water jacket. I needed to change the cracked head on driver's side After getting everything cleaned up and dried out I coated the bolt threads with this stuff and torqued down to spec. I didn't apply anything to the new head gasket. The product worked fine. No more water leaks and one tube was sufficient for all 24 bolts.

Finally got my tube and started installing my head bolts today. It's a much different consistency that the white thread sealant we're all used to using. It's more like the constancy of silicone sealants if you've ever used those. It goes on the threads very nicely and I will say torquing seemed easier with this which is what it does advertise. Hopefully it holds up and NEVER leaks.

I'm having to install new head gaskets on a 1964 Ford Fairlane. It was recommended to use some kind of thread sealant on the head bolts. This loctite was something that was recommended to use. I bought this loctite and I've now used it on my repair job. It appears to be doing its job.
