Amazing mat. Heavy and very useful on both sides. I use it for writing mat, cutting mat and for taking pictures.

Mat is not 18 by 24
Listing says grid is 17 by 23, mat is 18 by 24. Grid size is right, but the mat size is 17 5/8 inch by 23 3/4. This makes it more difficult to line up multiple different mats.

I bought a large cutting mat at a big box store and was really disappointed. It was really thin, it gouged easily, and it slipped all over anything I tried to put it down on to cut. This one from Amazon is exactly the opposite! It's thick and cushions well, it's self-healing (so far), and it stays put and doesn't slide everywhere when I'm cutting on it. Great cutting mat.
