Best Mug
I've used this guy nearly everyday since 2001. It's officially 3 years old now, and STILL won't spill if turned sideways, though the suction cup at the bottom is a little worn out, but still won't tip if I bump into it.Side note: Let's be realistic. Don't karate chop the mug and expect it to stay still. The suction cup isn't made out of depleted uranium. I did a few demos with my coworkers, and some of these dodo heads would slap the bejesus out of it, and expect it to stay still. *Face Palm* (I need smarter coworkers.)Still my mug was still in working condition after once I picked it up off the ground following dumb dumbs "Judy" Chop.

Amazing!
I read the reviews and believed everyone was telling the truth, but I was amazed when I got this mug and tested it out! One main reason I bought the mug is because it is plastic, and my husband wanted a plastic travel mug. When I read the reviews, I saw it is leak proof and spill proof. Time will tell if it is truly leak proof, and will see if it stays spill proof. Only thing I have noticed is that it will not stay upright on a table/counter if the table/counter has any kind of crack or lining on it. I tested this on one of those wooden dinner trays, and it works on the dinner tray, but the dinner tray also has a slight crack in, and when the mug was resting on that part, it did not stay secured. It also will not stay secure if there are any kind of crumbs on the bottom of the mug. So, if you set this down on a tile type of surface, make sure it's not on one of the lines. It looks like it has some kind of suction cup type of mechanism on the bottom. So, suction cups do not work well on surfaces with cracks in them. It lifts right up when you pick it straight up, though! It is truly amazing to see. I first thought it needed the lid in order for it to work, but that is not the case. I would recommend this to anyone who has a tendency to knock over their drinks, and anyone who likes really cool inventions. I think this is a really cool invention!

Works surprisingly well
After getting the bowls for kids that they aren't supposed to be able to pick up, and it took all of 4 seconds for them to lift them, I didn't have super high hopes for this. But our cat constantly knocks cups/mugs/glasses/tumblers/everything full of liquid off our counters so I had to at least try it. As soon as I got it, I put it on our kitchen island and bumped it - didn't move. Very solid. And then I picked it up - super easy. I was shocked, pleasantly so. I've now left it on our dining room table several nights in a row - and it's not moved. So it does depend on the surface - our rough wood livingroom table doesn't work (but other finished wood does - and pretty much all flat non-porous ones). If you bump the bottom or rotate it, it is movable - but I don't think our cat has figured that out yet.Very easy to clean in the dishwasher (top shelf). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a bit smaller than other mugs I've used before.

Durable and it works as advertised
We received one of these mugs as a gift several years ago. Recently bought another one because of its effectiveness. It does not spill, it has never been knocked over. The easy lift up works. It has been dropped and involved in accidents many times over the years and it has not come open or been scratched. Excellent product

Great Cup
The cup is the right size (oz), fits auto cup holder, microwaveable, the top connects easily (not always the case with this type of cup), keeps the beverages cool or hot and seals the liquid in adequately. Only thing to make it better would be a top that doesn't stick out so far when drinking and a baffle inside the drinking hole to keep liquid from splashing out when bumped or with a quick change in direction. Minor inconveniences that most cups have.

(*Updated) Great concept! But there are downsides
The media could not be loaded. (updated review) I loved this thing at first, but after several months of use I've changed my opinion a bit.- For starters, yes you can use it for hot or cold beverages, but I suggest picking one use and sticking with it. I used it for coffee once and after that normal water tasted like dirt for weeks. Still kind of does.- I also found that putting faith in the mug actually made me more careless over time, meaning the mug was really being put to the test! That wouldn't have been an issue if the mug was truly as mighty as it's name suggests. However, as well as it performs *sometimes*, I've had accidents that were a direct result of the mug's feature as well.- The suction cup becomes a little inconsistent over time. Sometimes it's too weak and will move or tip when bumped. Sometimes it's too strong and releases after my fingers lose grip - causing a sudden jolt of momentum that always ends in chaos and wet surroundings.- Overall, for as much as it solves some of the problem of being a bit careless or clumsy, it also tends to creates the new problem of not being 100% reliable.Does it prevent more spills? Maybe... But when spills do occur (and they still will), it's a little more frustrating than usual because you've bought a product that's supposed to prevent them. There's another layer of disappointment added to the situation. If you're a frugal person, you may even have another layer of frustration over money spent on sub-optimal performance.- So in conclusion; is it worth it? I think it depends on your expectations and your personal situation. For me, it feels a little more gimmicky than I'd hoped it would be.(previous review) This thing is better than I expected. Such a cool invention. I spill a glass of water or a mug of coffee at least twice a week, and this was my wife's gift to me to solve that problem. It works so well, I plan to get get at least one more, and maybe even a few more when we have kids (no juice spills!).It's also fun to just smack it around. Like, I kinda can't help just giving it a slap or a cheeky chop now and then. Highly recommend!
