Independently published Faking Ms. Right: A Hot Romantic Comedy (Dirty Martini Running Club)

I have to say that I have read Claire Kingsley books before, which is why I wanted to read Faking Ms Right. I know how well she writes romcom's, but I wasn't prepared to get sucked into this book the way I did!! I literally did nothing today except read this book!!! It was so captivating that I couldn't put it down!Everly has to be my new favorite book heroine!! She's the kind of person we should all have in our lives. She's sweet, optimistic, funny, loyal, trustworthy, smart, pretty, and just a ray of sunshine. She's kind to everyone she meets and it shows with how everyone responds to her. Her only flaw is her dating history, which is intensely horrifying!!! I don't blame her, I think she just had terrible luck in that department. It was both funny and horrifying to read about some of her 1st date experiences.Shepherd was an interesting book hero. He was cold and withdrawn on the outside, but we come to find out he's nothing like that on the inside. It took Everly to peel away his layers to find the creamy center. I never thought he was a bad guy, I just thought he internalized everything to protect himself. He thought it was working until he let Everly into his life, which made him realize how truly alone he had made himself.Now, Everly has been Shepherd's assistant for 3 years. This is how they know each other. After Shepherd breaks things off with his gold digging harpy of a girlfriend, she decides to get revenge by dating his father. Of course, his father doesn't know that they dated or that she's only interested in money and revenge. So, Shepherd thinks he has to come up with a new girlfriend to make the harpy think he's moved on. This is where Everly comes into the picture. It works great for 1 night, but due to circumstances, Shepherd's father has to move in with him for awhile, which means the harpy will be around too. So, he makes a deal with Everly to move in and be his fake girlfriend for a few months.Now, we all know that this is going to start out as a fake relationship and probably turn into a real one. But I never saw it going the way it did. That was the entertaining part!! All I'll say is it was beautiful and fun to watch!The secondary characters were amazing!! Nora and Hazel were Everly's BFF's, and these girls were great! The kind of friends we all should have! Ethan and Grant, Shepherd's brother and brother in law, were equally as great. Shepherd's father, Richard, was just wonderful! Such a lovely man, even after all he'd been through with the women in his life. Annie and Miranda, Everly's sister and sister in law, were wonderful characters also. And of course, the character you love to hate, Svetlana the gold digging harpy!! She was just a bitch!I highly recommend this book to everyone!! It is funny, warm, heartfelt, and a beautiful love story!!

I like this book, it's romantic and hot!

My first book from Ms. Kingsley, and it was a fun read. Loved the characters, didn’t mind that it was a little long because the content didn’t feel repetitive and especially loved the additional downloadable material which provided another glimpse of their life. Will absolutely read more of her books. Oh, and the book was just spicy enough and in all in the right places.

Great book! Great story just enough spice !

If I could have given this book six or seven or ten stars I would have. This was a terrific read. Some parts were funny to the point where I thought I was going to have my soda come out my nose. I was laughing out loud at my doctor's appointment today. Folks were looking at me. I loved the primary couple and I especially loved the secondary characters. I really wanted to be friends with Everly and company. We all would want an alpha like our guy. I really hope this book is part of a series and that we get to have a window into the world of this couple. As a paperback reader I always appreciate an author making books available in paperback. Thank you so very much for making this book available in paperback. This book was one heck of a ride! denise bailey
