After having had to deal with yet another good looking but flimsy carry-on failure I decided to invest in, rather than just buy another replacement. Even though it is made of metal, it is still surprisingly light and small enough stash in an overhead bin. Easy to manoeuvre and deep enough to place a bag on top, it is awesome. Plenty of space inside, and surprisingly, it came with a set of cubes which will make organising things even easier. The whole thing is amazingly understated and oozes quality. The proof of the pudding will come after a few sectors as a checked-in bag but I'm confident it will take it in its stride. More than happy with this little beauty.

So, I had previously purchased a cheaper version of Level8’s zipper less carry on. When it arrived, I immediately returned it due to the flimsy design and complete lack of confidence that it wouldn’t simply shatter if dropped about a foot. I went ahead and sprung for the Gibraltar, and the quality difference is night and day. I absolutely love how well it’s built. And while others complain about the separators, I actually quite like them. My only complaint is how little it’s able to actually hold. Only good for a 3-4 day trip. So for me, it’s great. But for others, it may not work out. I love the latches. I think the compartments and how storage works could be improved, considering how the wings that attach the separators are a bit oddly positioned. But beyond that, love this. I will get one of their zipperless checked bags when they have one that makes sense.
