Kirkland Signature Sleep Aid Doxylamine Succinate 25 Mg, 96-Count (1 Bottle) Nighttime Sleep Aid

I’ve struggled with falling and staying asleep for as long as I can remember, literally since I was a teenager. I don’t really want to use prescription medication to sleep – although that’s the only thing that truly works for me – so I’m constantly looking for something else that works. One of those things is doxylamine. The typical container at the grocery store has about 24 tablets and costs around $10. When I found this at Costco, I couldn’t believe how huge the container was and how little it cost. I don’t have a Costco membership anymore, but here it is, so I will continue to buy it. I take a pill about an hour before bed, along with melatonin and valerian root, and after about an hour or sometimes two, I fall asleep. I usually stay asleep for most of the night when I take this cocktail. This works better and lasts longer than Benadryl (active ingredient: diphenhydramine) and as long as I allow myself eight or nine hours between taking this medication and the time I need to get up, I don’t feel overly tired in the morning – you know, the “hangover” feeling.I recommend this highly if you can’t sleep. The price is great and it works!

Doxylamine Succinate is probably the best OTC sleep aid you can get without a prescription. Take it about 30mins to a hour before you want to be asleep by. Once you take it, you need to be in bed, relaxing and decompressing for it to work. If you take it but then continue to do stuff, anything other than getting in bed ready to go to sleep, then it won't work, you're defeating its purpose. Take it and get into bed. It helps me go to sleep, stay asleep, and if I get up in the middle of the night, I'm able to quickly go back to sleep. This one is a good deal compared to Unisom brand.

I take 1/2 a tablet and sleep soundly.

I tried these because I kept waking up at around 3:00 every night. These allow me to sleep through the night undisturbed, but I feel super sluggish in the morning. I avoid taking them when I can.

A lot of people are familiar with diphenhydramine, otherwise known as Benadryl.It's sold as both an anti-allergy medication and as a sleep aid.Then there's the lesser known big brother, doxylamine.Doxylamine is not as commonly found over the counter, at least not by itself, however it is the infamous ingredient in Nyquil that tends to knock people out.Because of this a lot of people will use Nyquil as a sleep aid but this is not a very good idea since Nyquil contains other ingredients which can be harmful if abused, particularly the acetaminophen.That's where this product comes in.This is just pure doxylamine which makes it much safer for frequent use as a sleeping aid and because it is doxylamine it will truly knock you out.Sure, diphenhydramine is ok but this in a a class of it's own!I'm a grown man and I only take HALF of a pill and it still makes me drowsy!You could even take a quarter of a pill and it would probably still work since each pill is 25mg, so a quarter would be 6.25mg which is the same amount in a dose of Nyquil.That's how powerful this is! Seriously, don't underestimate this stuff!I am not an insomniac but I sometimes get anxiety and especially racing thoughts that make it difficult to fall asleep since I'll get stuck on something in my head, usually something that causes me anxiety and then I can't stop thinking about it long enough to focus on falling asleep.So I'll take half a pill 30-60 minutes before bedtime and then I have no problem falling asleep!Since these have 96 pills per bottle and I only take half a pill at a time, that means this bottle gives me 192 doses, enough to probably last a lifetime!
