Fairly snuff fit over top of my foot (I have a high instep). They are comfy however, fairly unforgiving in terms of give in the sole.

This is NOT my first pair of Dansko shoes. I continue to read a lot of "disappointment/negative" reviews/comments from customers that purchased Dansko shoes and return them. However, based on those comments it is very obvious that they don't bother reading and/or understanding the Dansko scale. Dansko make shoes for people with: Thing, Regular and Wide feet. You need to do your homework and pay attention to the style and if it comes in your feet width; and not choose a Dansko shoe just based on the colour. I've been wearing Dansko shoes for 15 years; for my feet shape, Dansko shoes are simply the best! The material used to make the Dansko shoes last a long time and you can wear them all day long (I am a nurse - do 12 hours shifts).

Shipping was fast. As a Rn of 5 years with flat feet, i was considering getting orthodic inserts for my sneakers. Had someone with flatter feet than mine recommend them and love them. No more sore feet after 12hr shifts and was able to wear them from the get go, no problem and no adjustment period. Be aware that sizing is super important. I wear a Eu 39 in Birkenstocks and needed a Eu 40 in these to have the right amount of looseness. Less expensive than specialty inserts and worth the money. Already bought a backup pair.

I'm not even 40, but I'm tired of shoes that make my feet hurt, and tired of all the hassle to lace them up at the bottom of my house entrance stairs on my way in and out. Alice Gregory (she's apparently a fellow old soul trapped in a 20-something y/o body) swears by them so I thought I'd give them a try. I got the oiled, matte black ones for less than $70, which is about half their retail price. They look sturdy and kinda classy in a weird way that I love, and they are super comfortable and easy to slip on and off. I don't wear them to cover large distances, more like to a couple of blocks away from home sort of errands and then back. Also, I'm a solid US 10 with wide feet, and I ordered them in 11.5-12 and they fit just fine (good with medium-thickness socks, not terribly large if I'm barefoot, but I don't want to wear them sockless).

This is a beautiful shoe and that is the only reason for a single star. They are very uncomfortable. I have narrow feet but still found this shoe put a lot of pressure on my big toe and my baby toes to the point of rubbing a blister. Also the sole is very hard but there is no room for a good insert. Please do not buy this shoe. Others reviews said similar but I ignored... and regretted this purchase.
