Encountering Christ the Servant: A Spirituality of the Diaconate Paperback – September 2, 2020

I read this as a deacon to learn more about who I should be, what I do and to have a better philosophical understanding who I am as a deacon and what I should be doing. This has not disappointed but is giving me lots of food for thought. I'm grateful to Deacon Dom the author with whom I have corresponded.

A great book.

This is a wonderful treatment on diaconal spirituality. But it is more. It is really a wonderful survey - in readable, popular English, of sacramental theology, theology of orders, systematic theology, along with a lite touch upon personalism - all making a helpful blend - perhaps even a great blend - of what makes up the reality of the diaconate under the rubric of spirituality. Candidates and deacons will want to read this slim volume, packed with insights which open up aspect of the deacon's interior experience with God and the world. HIghly recommended.
