Works well, no rashes
6 months later, I found 2 ticks on a rear paw of our big dog. We live in the Philippines in a neighbohood with lots of dogs wandering around, so we are glad to have been tick free for 6 months. We were not able to find tick collars here.

Do a little research on these
So, take this info or leave it, but I just feel like not enough people know about it. A flea collar is just a time released pesticide collar. That means your pet is getting dosed with pesticides, absorbing them through their skin day after day, and getting damage to their liver having to process those chemicals. Not to mention, you, the owner (and your kids, other pets, etc) are being exposed to these chemicals. Read up on soresto (the super "premium" flea collar thats pushed by vets) killing dogs.If your dog doesnt have fleas, why are they wearing a flea collar (its a poison to kill them, more than a deterrent to prevent them). Theres a ton of homeopathic things you can use to deter fleas and ticks that are not toxic (or deadly) to your pet, or you. And if your dog does get fleas? Give them a bath with dawn dish soap then flea comb them out. Want a good tick deterrent? Garlic (works for people too!). Check out dosages for safe garlic use in dogs.If you do go for a hike, do a quick check for ticks after and youre good. If youre going somewhere thats absolutely infested with ticks and fleas (camping in the woods, etc) i get it, you need it. Use the collar, alternate it every other day on then off while you camp, then remove it when youre done being there. We push so many chemicals on our pets (through food, medications, husbandry, and care products). Even just limiting exposure to chemicals is better. We buy things to try to keep our pets safe (theyre our little friends that depend on us), because we trust these companies have our pets health and longevity in mind. But whether your dog lives, dies, or over time gets sicker after using this kind of product, they've made their money on it.

Skin reaction to this collar!! Keep an eye out
After two weeks of wearing the collars, I could tell they were working. Ticks are very problematic in our area. One of my dogs did fine with this collar and the other developed a reaction that gave her scabs on her neck. I’m gonna try a collar with a different ingredient for her. This works great for one dog, but not the other. I would still give them a try. they were definitely working and I’m sure my dog simply has sensitive skin. These are a great alternative to Seresto. However, I’m gonna have to try a pricier collar due to her allergy.

Hard to get off and on!
I like to regularly bathe my dogs once a month, and I remove the flea collars when I do this. However, these collars are extremely difficult to get off and on in my opinion. I suffer from carpal tunnel in my right arm and I’m right handed which makes it more difficult. I have a little dog with a heart condition and I feel like this really stresses her out when I struggle to take it off and back on. They seem to work okay as far as keeping the fleas away and I’ve not seen any ticks on any of my dogs which is good. It’s just the level of difficulty getting them off and on without feeling like I’m hurting and stressing out my dogs. Because of this I’m rating it a 3 stars. I feel that not only should a flea collar protect against fleas and ticks but should be easy to get off and on and not a huge issue. There’s a lot of good flea collars out there that I’ve used in the past that work great and are simple to get off and on and comfortable for the dog. I definitely would not recommend these to anyone with any type of arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. I myself will not be purchasing these again.

It works.
Had a China knock off and the collar slipped out of adjustment and fell off. Hartz stayed in place much better - not perfect on these 130# dogs. Plenty long to go around his fat neck. Never notice insects on these outside dogs either. Including a Lab/Shepherd mix with a thick coat. I'm already buying for this year.

Best tick collar I have found
Love these tick collars, they fit our three dogs perfect that are various size of dogs. They do not bother the dogs and with living in the country our animals were always getting a lot of ticks but not with these they work amazing!
