Another great kit from TLR
TLR kits are some of the best kits out there! The effort put into design and quality shows through out the build process as all parts are pre-trimmed labeled and bagged according to assembly steps in the clearly illustrated and I think the best manuals out there! The buggy has tons of steering and handles great out of the box on the kit setup. I would suggest upgrading to the ball diff as they are much better suited for 2WD buggies on a clay track. I have run this car with a Hobbywing XR10pro ESC and 21.5T and 17.5T motors depending on track layout with very good results! There many hop-up parts available for this car so If you like to upgrade I would just go ahead and buy the Elite version of this kit and save some time and money in the long run.

Would be 5 stars if parts were available... Great car otherwise!!
Built my car from the roller kit - very easy to build up, add your electronics, glue up some tires, paint and go. I have been to the track (indoor packed clay) and the settings in the kit needed to be dialed in some for me to run faster.Pro:- Comes almost complete - can do upgrades to Elite (if you can find parts)- Shock oil viscosity is ok - may need to adjust to track.- Quite adjustable- Get spare turnbuckle ends (may have to buy the titanium kit)- Slipper clutch is easy to access and adjust or work on.Con:- Limited parts availability (I purchased a second roller for spare parts).- If you can find front arms - grab an extra set- Turnbuckles - larger than AE, have spares as these are breaking in my crashes with others- Battery tray padding (none - add some)- Gear diff vs. ball dif (if you understand this, you know the benefits of each)- Shock towers are not protected if flipped - the top of the shocks and towers come into contact with the ground. Need a cap or cover that goes over this (I've seen light 3D printed ones)- If you are doing a diff service - it is pretty in depth and the car is really disassembled for access.Overall, this is a great driving car, performs wonderfully. Once I shifted to a tire with a smaller amount of tread - it was a game changer. I had to tweak my ride height front and back a little and that helped with flying flatter off the jumps - same with a CG adjustment. I have had two pretty bad wrecks, one I hit a pole at about 20mph. The tie rod end broke - the rest was fine. I then had someone hit me and it popped my front spindle apart, and I had to tear into the spare roller. The parts cost me around $40 and I was able to locate online. In a couple cases - I am upgrading to a lighter part so the breakage is driving some upgrades that are logical for a race car. I have everything but a servo and rcvr for my other roller (and the parts I am waiting on) - hmmm...

Fast but, little pricey.
This car is fast with the the brushless C&C set up I put in this buggy. I took it to an indoor track about 5 times so far and had a few brakes on the the composite clay they use. Every time the thing brakes at the track it’s 20 to 80 bucks out of my pocket. Things I have broke so far rear control arm, D block, servo, rear camber block, front caster block, couple bearings, and im sure there will be more. Buy a skid plate for this kit. It will save you the headaches. They are 10 bucks. Best advice I would give anyone who buys this kit.

Not impressed
Surprised to see out of the box that the rear camber links are rubbing on the wheels. I tried to find wider hexes to fix it but most were the same width as stock or narrower.

It is not a team car
There are upgrades needed to make it race ready car. Should of just got in elite car....
