Q: Could a kid sit on this and ride down a grassy hill?

Yes, my kids have done down the slight hill in our backyard. Waxing the bottom makes it even faster.

Q: Does this scratch wooden floors?

No, we have two boards plus hard woods throughout our home. The kids have played with them inside & out (on cement). The bottom of the boards are scratched but they have not scratched our dark hard wood floors.
