these things are getting scarce . . .
I ordered two "bow pens"; I still enjoy drafting by hand as I did in my youth. The problem is that manual drafting equipment is getting hard to find, and I discovered I had only one bow pen in my "stash". So I ordered two from Alvin, a company whose products I have been using for more than fifty years. My order came in on time, as described, well-packaged, and at a very reasonable cost. So . . . my stash is safe, at least for now!

perfect thin lines!
I am a watercolor painter and often need to make fine lines and this is the perfect too for ink, paint or mastic! I love it!!!

Create fine to wide lines by adjusting the wheel but be ...
This is a neat marking tool! Create fine to wide lines by adjusting the wheel but be careful as it WILL pop off if you go too far - which makes cleaning easier. So far I've used the pen with india ink and acrylic ink with great results.

Garbage
mass produced ruling pens are garbage and inconsistent. I will look for a vintage one used by draftsmen and artists

A must for watercolor artists
Sturdy, strait, and wheel turns smoothly. Fine point for detailing. Adjusting the wheel allows more masking fluid to be laid. Cuts down on time and mess. An asset to watercolor artists!

Not the ruling pens of old
These are less common these days, so I thought I'd give this one a shot for drawing straight lines with masking fluid and watercolor. If you're expecting the precision quality of a vintage German-made ruling pen, these aint it! Yes it does work, however, its very lightweight with a cheap plastic handle, and the riveted adjustment wheel is fiddly and loose with a short range of thread engagement - doesn't feel like it would hold up to extended usage.

A straight line every time
The pen functions exactly as a good ruling pen should. They are scarce in the stores, but still a necessity, and I am pleased with it.
